Hey everyone,
I have a Sony Clie PEG-NX70V and I'm trying to install the synching software on my new PC, which has Windows Media Center on it. The software is Palm Desktop for Clie 4.1 and Intellysync Lite 4.0. I've tried different installation CDs, but every time, the InstallShield installation process freezes before it's done. I click Cancel but nothing happens, and I have to restart my computer.
When I restart, I have a Palm Desktop icon on my PC, and things seem to be installed. When I press the synch button on my Clie, the computer recognizes it--it makes the "recognize hardware" tone--
then the Clie says Connecting with the Desktop using Cradle/Cable
and on my PC, the HotSync Progress window appears for a split second, and reads Determining Handheld Configuation, then Backing up Handheld Databases.
But then it all stops immediately, a split second later, and no information has been exchanged between my Clie and Outlook.
I tried running Microsoft Windows Update and installing all optional updates, but it didn't help.
Any thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.
