Please anyone can you tell me if the NX60 sold at Costco for $399 OK to buy? I wonder WHY it's cheaper by at least $100. Or should I buy it instead at Best Buy or CC where it's more expensive but sure to be a closed box, new item?

Im trying to choose between the NX60 and the TG50 which are same priced.

Thanks for the help.

Get the NX70v for $362.95 shipped NO TAX from Overstock. $399 is WAAAAAAAAY too high for an NX60...

If I'm not mistaken, the NX70v from overstock is REFURBISHED
while the NX60 from Costco is brand new.

Uhhh..so? What's your point? Do you think it is worth $250 for a full color box because that is the only difference. Same warranty, full registation, etc. There is also tax at Costco so you are paying $430 for an NX60 when you can have an NX70 for $360.

MANY of us ordered the "refurbished" NX70s only to find that they were, in fact, new NEVER USED Clies with a refurbished sticker on them. You can tell that they arent refurbs by the serial number which is fully registerable as a NEW unit with SONY. This is a VERY common practice not only for SONY but most electronic companies when a new model is on the horizon. They take their current unpackaged NEW stock and package it in generic packaging and flood the secondary market (auction sites, liquidaters, etc.) This keeps them from being stuck with a backlog of the older models and gives them some tax breaks. Many people mistake refurbished for used, battered, broken, etc. but it only means that in RARE cases and in this case it means BRAND SPANKING NEW "b" stock. If you need instructions on how to get the $362.95 price DELIVERED feel free to email me!

AshVid, congratulations on the great deal - and you're right; legitimate refurbs are good as new. But the poster was asking about the price difference - so the point of the reply was to compare apples to apples: Costco's price for a new NX60 versus competing prices for the exact same product. I agree that te NX70v from Overstock is an amazing deal, but - even though all you say about the quality of the refurb is absoluteyl true - it isn't a valid comparison, in my opinion, in terms of answering the poster's question.

It absolutely is a valid comparison in answering a much more general question: what Clie should the poster buy?

The ones at Costco are fine, but if you really want a NX60 you should get it for $349.99 at CompUSA. I wouldn't pay $50 extra for a TG50 either.

The Overstock deal is good too, but I didn't need the camera and I wanted it new and easily returnable if I had the same problems I had with my NR70.
