i've got problems with my mem stick slot, it just can pop up my mem stick when it is slighty pushed, and sometimes can damages my mem stick.
i've changed my memory stick many times because it because unrecognizeable even in clie, cybershot or pc. but it didn't happenned with my 32mb ms which i always put in write protected position (unless i've to write something to it) so i want to ask:
1. do sony ms pro/pro duo have lock switch to write protect ms? i've ask sandisk seller and they told me that all sandisk ms has no that switch
2. is there possible to replace the slot with card reader ms slot? or where can i buy a new ms slot for my clie?
thanks

My Sandisk Memory Stick Duo does not have a write protect switch.

With regards to buying a replacement Memory Stick slot for your UX, check out the sticky at the top of the forum which has a link to a spares provider for the Clie UX family.

I found this (http://www.allmemorycards.com/memory-stick-pro-duo.htm) which suggests that some Sony Duo cards have write protect switches whilst others do not. You will have to find a specific card model and then check from there....

I had that problem with MS cards, but myWB still saw the card and was able to reformat it. Do you have a separate file manager that still recognizes the card? If so, reformat it. It worked for me.

The MSPros have the write protected switch. It's the MS Duos that some have write protect switch and some don't. All of my MS and MS Pros have had the switch. I've ordered a MS Duo, but I haven't received it yet.

I've had the 256, 128, 500mb, and 1 GB MS Pro. All of them had the switch.
