The pA beta version is supposed to be released sometime today; it removes the 255 icon limit, among other things.

From within the week-view, choose the display options, and make sure that "Tiny" is not checked, otherwise all you see is gibberish. Unchecking "small font" will similarly increase the view.

Preview A was "pulled" and a new preview with the icon issues resolved will be posted in about an hour;)

I saw that a lot of people liked datebook5, so I downloaded it and I have a question.

The fonts are messed up in the weekly view with text. Some appointments show up fine, but most are scrunched together. Is there a way to resolve this?

infty, that was the problem that was talked about on this thread. you need to go into the view prefrences and turn the small font off.

Thanks...I thought I'd read this awfully long thread :) but I missed that. Thanks for being so nice about it too, when I deserved to be flamed for my incompetence ;)

It works well now :)

Anyone else find Datebook 5 too cluttered? I installed it, but was turned off by the scramped display of information and the UI.

DB5 is kind of like ZL. It can be as cluttered or as simple as you want. It's also the kind of program that takes a LONG time to get used to and understand how it works, so if you've only used it for a few hours, you probably haven't done it justice. My default view of DB5 is very uncluttered.

BTW, pB has also been pulled; apparently the new icon setup is conflicting with old preferences, so there will be a pC release later tonight.

This is Joe. His very first one. Gorilla Haven is where the proceeds from the sale of DateBk5 go . . . :)

A quick question. If I download DB5 (as I am using original one that came with my clie and it suxors) can I sync with my laptop into it to try it and if I don't like it just delete and go back to the factory datebook? Tks in advance.

Quick answer...yes, that won't be a problem because db5 uses the built in database.

Longer answer...any feature not supported by the standard database i.e. icons or floating appointments, will have a note attached to it. DB5 'knows' if a note is in use...it will be hidden in DB5 if the information is all DB5. Within DB5, DB5 info will be hidden when viewing notes with your information.

Outside DB5 i.e. Outlook or Palm Desktop, the notes with cryptic data will be fully visible.

So...if you really play with the advanced features, then decide you hate it, worse case is you have to go through and delete a few notes...

hope this helps...

Just d/l the demo. All my 700++ of icons work! sweeett!

Another quick question for datebk5 users - how do i get to today quickly without bring up the date picker? Like in Agendus there's an icon where you can just tap on it. So far that's my only nag about it. Thanks!

Tap the square with the single dot, the first one.
