FYI. I've seen the 1gig for as low as $37 in the last month, but that was also with a ~20 rebate.

The 2gig BLUE cards are OK for the UX series if I read correctly. The black cards were about this price recently but IIRC those are not reported useable with the UX-series (?).

I also read recently that the Sandisk cards were much faster than the Sony ones, but that may have changed.

Yes, that's what I heard too ;)

SanDisk vs Sony? Not too sure about that. And I guess it depends on type of cards. But I believe the speed is irrelevant if using on UX50.

Speed matters little on the UX, that is correct, and yes, Sony has reported the Black MemorySticks to be having problems... :(

'cos the UX is so slow (I just assume, not having looked at Clie specs)? But at least the speed helps when loading it with mp3 or whatever on your desktop machine.

The UX has a slow processor, but it handles games and such very well. It can play video at 30fps, and has an Audio DSP.

It may have "slow processor" but the RAM has been placed fairly efficiently that it handles most jobs with ease--esp videos.

its doesnt have anything to do with the slow processor. its just that the ux doesnt support hi-speed card.
it's like connecting a usb2 device to your usb 1.1 port. it will work in the usb 1.1 speed, regardless to your cpu, memory, screen size or whatever.

Just bought a few 1G Sandisks from Costco, their reg. price is $59.99 but they had an in-store coupon for $10 off any MSPro Duos and I couldn't resist. They work fine in my UX50. :D

Still, nobody has flatout said that the 2gb duo Sandisk works with UX50.

I think it's on this chart:

But if it isn't really, I just bought one for my wife's camcorder. I'll throw it in my UX50 tonight if I remember.

Yes I got one for her cam and not a second one for my UX. I regret this.

That would be great. I just bought a blue Sandisk 2gb dup stick off eBay. BTW, there are coupons on eBay/paypal going right now, but it didn't work on my purchase

It should arrive in a week or so, so I will report here then :)

I used the paypal discount for a 4GB Elite Pro CF card on buy.com. On the receipt, it shows $0 deducted for discount, but the ending price after taxes is less than the begining price (Before rebate). Thus, I know I got the 5% discount. The begining price was $163.99. After calculation + tax, it shows $155.79. Additionally, I noticed $8.20 was deducted, before it computed the receipt.
