Hi,
Here are all the details of my problem,
I have a NX70 and a WL100.
I have a Laptop with a Wifi PC card (Mustek).
I was able to hotsync and surf the web on the clié through the laptop PC card with an Ad-hoc connection... It was working perfectly (with WEP 64).
One of my neighbour (I might need to find out which one!!) has a access point setup with WEP. I can see it from the monitor on the laptop.
Now, I can't get back my connection clie/laptop... I try to change all the settings on both machines... nothing!
If I try to connect a second laptop to the 1st one, it works perfectly (internet and folders shared)...
Does my neighbour's access point could be the reason of my problem?!
Thanks
Raphael

Just to add one more thing:
In the Log of the MoblieMgr I get:
Error:4639. [TAP Details]
And the details: An error occured while attemting to connect to a network.
Well I knew it already Mister Sony, so can you be more specific?
Thanks

The RF frequencies are the same no matter which mode you use. It basically reverses them so the access points can talk to each other. You can try changing channels or re-orient the antenna. Question, are your Clie settings IP and DNS on auto? The other known troublemaker is enabling the PowerSaveMode!!! It'll cause fits on marginal signals and slow down connection speeds or kill the connection altogether!
I hope this helps some!

Well at last I found why it wasn't working, I'm not sure if it's a problem with the WL100, my PC card or my neighbor AP...
If I setup my PC Card with the same settings as the one used for the WL100, this is how I see my Clie in my utility:
The IBSSID is filled with 0!
If I try to connect my PC card to the WL100... nothing!
If I connect my PC card to my neighbor AP (it's connected but access nothing because of the Wep) then I can see the WL100 properly, if I select it and click Connect, that's it!
So?! Well I'm happy because it works now...

This is what I'd have done.
1) Both PC and CLIE OFF.
2) Turn on PC.
3) Use your monitor utility, find out which channel your neighbour is using
4) Start your IBSS in a different channel.
5) Start your CLIE with settings matching your PC. ie. Channel number, IBSSID.
Good Luck.

Thanks

I don't have the time tonight to check the IBSSID when I can connect the Clie to the Laptop... will do it tomorrow.
However here is the shot I took for my previous message:

Thanks!

In adhoc mode, the IBSSID is just a random number chosen by the device that starts the IBSS. I guess your card simply chose 00-00-00-00-00-00. When you bring two adhoc devices together, the IBSSID should coalesce.
In Infrastructure mode, however, the BSSID corresponds to the MAC address of the AP.
