I recently found "Lectures" an open source editor that allows the taking of mathematical notes, which is discussed in another post (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92018&highlight=lectures) .

However I also found it being sold at www.walkaboutsoft.com.

I hope there is an innocent explanation...

I don't know if the sourceforge author and the "walkabout" author are the same person, but there is a difference between open source software and free software. IANAL, but you can (in theory) charge for GPL software, but you have to provide the source code with the sale, IIRC. Without knowing if the two projects are indeed the same software and without knowing if the authors are in fact two separate entities, I don't know what to say. Maybe contact the Sourceforge author through that interface and alert him/her to the walkabout site.

(As an aside, the walkabout site does look a little shady, IMHO, but I've never used them or heard anything else about them, so I don't have any empirical evidence to support that opinion. (Which is why it's an opinion.) But I wouldn't buy anything there.)
