It appears to be working fine on my T2. I've been bugging Andrew about the menu transparency for months now...I'm so glad he fixed that! :D Now, it looks even better! I tried it with Billiards, tried it with Lesson Plan, and all is well. We'll see how it goes with my other apps. Hopefully, this fix will work for everyone! :)

BTW, my White Spirit PR skin was officially added to the 3GXSoft skin (http://3gxsoft.com/skins/) page. ;)

Yes, I saw your new skin earlier. Sales should skyrocket now! :) Can you explain the "transparency feature?" I don't see anything about it in preference settings.

I just mentioned this in the other PR thread. :D The transparencies are built into the skin. When you tap on the Menu, the drop down list features the frame designed by the skin author. In previous versions, depending on the skin, you would see a thin white background behind the frame. Andrew said that it was the default for the Palm OS and that he would try to enable the transparency set in the skin's bitmap for the menu frame.

If you compare 0.944b to, let's say 0.942b, you would see the difference. A good example would be the Cobalt DBH Mod skin, more than halfway down the PalmRevolt skin page. On that page, the screenshot shows the thin white background in the pop-up list frame. If you look closely, you'll see the white pixels in each corner and especially at the bottom and right side of the frame. This screenshot was taken a while ago. Now, if you install that skin and go to the preview, with 0.944b the white pixels are gone! :D I'm a happy guy! :p

I hope I explained that alright! :)

Bug 1:

Summary: 'Days' buttons in Calendar app bleed through 'Edit Categories' dialog after dismissing 'Tips' dialog.

Steps:
1. Install PR .944 and OSX skin.
2. Launch ROM Calandar application. Have DIA minimized so app is 'full screen'.
3. From Day view, select Category dropdown>'Edit Categories'
4. Select Info button in top -right of dialog.
5. Click 'Done' to dismiss dialog.
6. Notice graphic defect.

Note: This doesn't occur if app is DIA is visable.

Very well explained . . . even I followed it, as I already have Cobalt DBH Mod and compared it to 3GX's screenshot and saw exactly what you described!

Well, it's pretty quiet in this thread today, apparently Andrew's fix was a success! :D

I have just installed Andrew's debug PR app. I also repeated what I have mentioned to him as a possible repeatable event, and it just repeated. PR seems to work flawlessly (for me) until some other app causes a reset. I am doing some beta testing for Olive Tree's iLumina Mobile Bible.

PR had not caused a single incident during some vigorous "trying to break it" testing. Then after getting several resets successfully "trying to break" iLumina, I opened PR, changed the skin from PR_StealthOS_Grey to "Palm OS Default" and got a reset. In the past, I seemed to sail along with no incidents from PR until NetFront caused a reset, and then the PR resets started occuring.

The mystery continues . . .

Do any of you Palm OS programmer heads out there know if any flags are set or states changed after a crash reset is completed vs. a stylus-in-hole reset?

I know of strange behavior with a PC after a non-orderly power off bootup, or if my PC freezes and I have to hit the reset switch. I generally follow that event with a normal "Restart" after it reboots because of some flakey behavior experienced.

I was just wondering if a crash reset might leave the Palm OS in a less than pristine state?

Can anyone reproduce the issue I mentioned? I just want to make sure it's not just me.

yes. the cause register for reset is either GPIO reset [reset button pushed], or software reset [crash]

Hhmmmm . . . should I own them both, for the cost of Happy Meals for two? :D Dmitry, after all, is a nice guy! :) Think I'll try before I buy as it was with SkinUI that I started. Has the menu bar color for imported PR skins been fixed? Guess I'll find out. ;)

I bought both. I beta tested both, said I would buy when they came out, now bought both. I like having my options open. And I always support good developers.

Both PalmRevolt (Andrew) and SkinUI (Dmitry) revolutionize the Palm OS and BOTH deserve our support and encouragement to continue to improve and refine what they have begun. :)
