I have been thinking about buying a wl100 for my new NX70v that I just got. I have a couple of questions and any help would be great. If I got a wl100 and a linksys wireless router to use as the access point will I be able to use my clie to surf the web from a place about 5 to 10 miles away? My second question is what is a hotspot and how is a hotspot used? My last question is if the linksys wireless router the best one to use with the wl100?

The range of Wifi is around a 100 feet, so the answer to your first question is a big NO. A hotspot is essentially a place where someone else has a non-secure access point set up, so you can use it to surf or get email with the WL100. I have a Linksys router, and it's very good and works well with the WL100, though there are some other good choices as well. Search through some of the threads here to see what routers work and what don't with the WL100.

Haaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.........Ok, I'm all better now :):p:D
Published maximum range is 300 feet indoors, 1000 feet outdoors (under optimum conditions).
I have a NETGEAR MR814 which was pretty inexpensive and works great.
