I have just experienced my first 'fatal'. It happened after I was surfing the web and for some reason my device froze. I did and soft reset and and fatal message would come out: DataMgr.c, Line:9524, Index out of range. I tried to turn off my clie and it wouldn't even let me do that. What does this message mean??
I eventually had to do a hard reset:( And lose all of my data. I didn't bother to do a MS backup either. I guess I will be on top of doing that now..

How much free RAM did you have? Memory can get corrupted very easily by any number of methods or errant apps.
I keep plenty rolling backups of both my Clie and of my MS.

I was using jacjkflash at the time so I had plenty liBecuke 4-5 mb give or take. But i only had like 174kb in flash left.
Incidently, is the stuff I put in flash still in there? Because I use filez to look in ROM and nothing that I put in there is there.

You need to use Flash Enable or Jack Safe to restore your flash. There are several condintions that can hide the flash.

So you're telling me that when I run flash enable from my memory stick that I will release my flash? And would I simply re-install jack flash again and leave flash enable in memory stick?

:) For some crazy reason when I hot synced my PDA as i tried to install flash enable into MS. All my data was restored to my RAM!! I thought MS backups were the only kinds of backup..it was a pleasant suprise. Now I guess, I'll have to put some programs back into flash though.
