OK, my wireless connection at my home network is good to go, but how does one connect to LAN's at WiFi hotspots? Do you have to create a new profile and have access to SSID and WEP to enter or is there some sort of generic setting that will just allow you to connect to an open network?
Thanks

Create a new profile for open system.
Use SSID of "any" without the quotes or leave blank.
WEP Key: none
Infrastructure mode
IP and DNS set to auto
PowerSaveMode is unchecked !!!

I just went to a supposed 'hot spot' as was claimed on one of the sites. I tried to connect, but no luck. So I asked the woman behind the counter:
Q: Do you have a wirelss network?
A: No
They do however have rj45 outlets all over the place. You would think they could pop for the $50 wirelss router!
