I guess with the success of the iPod video, watching video on a handheld device has now become a mainstream activity. Of course many of us have been doing that on our NX series devices for a long time.
Currently I watch TV shows that I record on my NX60 using CliePet's Fullmovieplayer. I use a 1G MS Pro Duo (with adapter) which allows me to store about 7-8 shows on it (more than the battery life). I also have a NX80 that is going to be used when my NX60 dies. I find that the brightness of the NX80 is better than the NX60 but in most circumstances the video is quite watchable. Great for those time when you are waiting for the spouse at the mall(!), kids at their various swimming, piano lessons. Plus to ensure I have enough viewing time, I purchased a USB charger that works off the cigarette lighter.
I have never seen an iPod video in person but from reading the specs, it seems that the NX screen is larger and has the right aspect ratio for watching those 16:9 TV shows that are so common now. While it can store more of course, it doesn't take long to refresh the memory card.
I will be using my Clie's still they die!

Did you imply that Full movie player does the recording too?

No - bad grammar :-) I convert the shows using ImageConverter. But FMP is a better player than VideoPlayer (IMHO) since it uses the entire screen for the image rather than having real estate taken up by icons etc.

but the storage of memorystick is much less compare to iPop'sHDD.
Viewing Video on NX consumes battery too fast. So I think Ipop video is a better solution for ones who view video often.

Why don't you use TCPMP (freeware) have a look to this Thread ?

check out www.clieflics.com if you want to download some movies :)
I think that watching video on the clie is great (I have an NX07v)...
The iPod video is ok, but I find the screen a little small, and the battery on the video iPod isn't really that great. The big plus for the iPod is the huge hard drive though. At the moment I really need to get a bigger MS/CF. What is the largest MS/CF that people have? I've heard about 2gb MS working, anyone have a working 2gb CF or 4 gb MS?
Another note, does anyone notice that in TCPMP, MQV's movies do not look as good as in FMP? I'm guessing its just the codec...

Hi I watch full DVD movies on my NX70V.
I have TCPMP installed and use DVD shrink to strip out the junk from DVD's I already own and SPS video9 to convert the files to MPEG4, using 15fps works very well looks better than files I convert for my kid's PSP. :)

I am a total believer (as of about a month ago) in TCPMP. What a great piece of freeware. It has eliminated all of my video problems. I use Pocket DVD to shrink the files and I get full screen hour and a half movies for less than 200mb. So with a 1GB compact flash card, I can do 4 or 5 movies. NX70 still rocks!

I just tried it out. For some reason I can't get any audio on it even though I have installed the AAC codec. Video is fine for the shows I convert with IC. I have installed the tcpmp_aac_plugin.prc in addition to the base program and prc file for MPEG4 files (which IC outputs)
Out of interest why does FMP not need this codec? Is it using the base audio code that videoplayer uses?

Pookkie, does SPS video9 convert recorde TV shows from media center PCs? BTW, I use a 2GB CF in my VZ90 and I'm thinking about getting the 4GB.

Do you have Cliepet's MCA hack? I believe that is a way to make the audio work.

If you want to have sound in TCPMP with your NX you need MCA2.05 (http://www.aibohack.com/clie/modclieaud.htm)
Install it in ram reset your palm and you will have sound ;)

OK - I will give that a try. Thanks
PS
Well that didn't work. I wonder if it's because I am running tcmp on a memory stick (but I did put the MCA prc into memory). Anyway since I am pretty happy with FMP I don't think I will continue looking
