Need some Feedback Please on New ZLauncher Skin.

I'm in the process of creating a new skin for the new ZLauncher 3.x

I posted a screen print of the skin here on ClieSource:

I haven't uploaded the skin anywhere as of yet..... because I'm still working hard on it. I only loaded up a screen print of the 'right-tab' area. Currently Top/Bottom/Left/Right Tabs have all been created.

As you can see, I've already begun creating some of the buttons and whatnot, but have not done all the small ICONS as of yet (takes forever it seems).

Any Good/Bad feedback on this would be great... I don't know if there is much interest in it or not.

Almost everything looks great, especially the tabs!!! But I don't like the color scheme you chose for the big gadgets. They seem to be pastels and don't seem to go with the rest of the "look". If they were silver, gray, or a dark color, it might look better IMO.

Thank you for the input rldunn!!!!!! ..... I do agree.... I'm correcting those big gadgets and file-gadgets (which y'all can't see as of this point). I'll make those changes and re-upload later on today. TY for the input so far everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to try and make the big-gadgets and the file-icons the same color scheme... but reversed. Instead of Cream-to-Blue ... I'll make them Blue to Creme. It'll lighten the blue a little on the top ... but darken the creme on the bottom.

More suggestions welcome!!!!!!!! :)

The skin is beautiful, what image editing software are you using to make all the bitmaps so professional and how are you doing it? I try so hard to make a skin but they never turn out like that. I hope in the future you consider making a low res version too.

I use a wide variety of software........ most of my graphics that I'm creating for this skin..... are created by using PAINTER 7.

I like it betterh than Photoshop...... all plugins created for Photoshop work with Painter .... I like the way it does most things better than the way Photoshop. I'm not slamming photoshop in the least... they have an awesome product..... I'm just more 'comfortable' with Painter... and love the features it has built in... which some are superior, IMHO, to Photoshop.....

Any chance on having this skin, when it's done, for us Tungsten users? It's really looking GREAT!!

sure.... no difference I SEE between the CLIE and the Tungsten... except for the seperator bar thang...... everything else, I believe, looks the same .... I may give up on the small ICONS at this point... and get back to them so I can get this posted out there.

To ensure good 'quality'.... this skin does not look well with the TRANSPARENT-UI turned on. I've made most of the buttons 'full size' with the gradient in the background. This gave the best appearance and didn't require much in the way of editing. The File Manager buttons do have transparency on them for when the show up in the file-manager area. There is a tiny bit of 'pink' which shows up... I'm manually fixing those so there is none showing. Hopefully will be done in a day.

Skin has been posted on the Clie Site. 320x480 mode only as of yet. I'll try and get the 320x320 tomorrow (only a couple of little graphic changes for that one)...........

DON'T FORGET... IF YOU ARE DOWNLOADING THE .RAR file from CLIESOURCE... to get BOTH Part 1 & 2 ..... Had to split the .prc file in the RAR files due to size constraints!

There is a duplicated bmp item: 5758. I think you missed one bmp item from the original skin. It should be bmp id 5759. Just check and see what I mean. Thanks anyway for the nice work.

I'm kinda missing what you are saying I guess.......

I didn't modify any of the given tool-bar gadgets (very small gadgets) nor any of the category icons. These were provided with the ThemeMaker program. I did see two icons in the category Icons which looked similar. there were two hearts. One was in Top Row 3rd Position.... 2nd was in 6th Row 8th Position. They are two different hearts, but neither were modified by myself.

I do see the All Gadgets Icon missing.... I'll have to create one for that and put it in.

If you could please tell me which icons were 'duplicated' I can make a modification to one of them.

I searched in my list of icons for both '*5758*' and *5759* and couldn't find what you are referencing. I don't have the ZLAUNCHER documentation here at home with me (at work). If you could tell me what these Icons are... would be very helpful. Whether they are toolbar-gadgets or category icons.... and their position when selecting one. I can easily reference it there.

What about a 320x320 for Sony OS 4.x units?
The ReadMe First document does not mention this:

OK, I did (try them, I mean) -- the one labeled SonyHR is the one that works on my 320x320 T665C. Zlauncher wouldn't load the OS5 one.
