Help! Dud Bluetooth?

I think my new TH55/E1 's Bluetooth might be a dud! Well, I really have tried to read everything I can before asking. I hope I just missed something.

Can someone tell me if the function can only be "enabled" when another bluetooth device is around?

I do not have any other bluetooth devices...Yet. But, I tried to "enable" Bluetooth in the Prefs... and a pop-up says "Bluetooth...Unable to initialize the bluetooth hardware." ...? Is this normal?

I did go the Prefs>Phone and tapped the "Test" button. The pop-up says it is a "phone error...unable to connect, check phone settings..." This sounds more like the BT is working and waiting for a phone. And makes me feel better.

Please, help me not feel like an complete idiot. Although, if it soo stupidly simple... I might just really be an idiot? Oh Gee. I hope not.

nop. not normal at all. if har reset doe snot help, sure sounds like a hardware problem

dmitrygr, I feel like an idiot! I have been thinking about this for about a month and have been worried... It never occured to me to perform a reset.... I nailed the reset once and tried agian. It works now. WOW what a pretty color Blue!
