There's a missing close quote in the tag for the article. I am seeing this: ;)
Dmitry Grinberg's SharkLinks allows you to stick a website bookmark icon right in your Palm OS launcher

Looks like there was something weird going on with those last two links. I've pulled them out of the show notes, and I'll list them here.
Dmitry Grinberg's PowerClip (http://www.palmpowerups.com)
Tyler Faux's SharkLinks (http://www.ludustech.com)

Get this when I try to open the forums page for the Tech Talk Podcast 42 at Grassnet.
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
Dang it, I want to download that Podcast!
Alan, would it be possible to put the actual MP3 links in your Podcast RSS feed so that I can just downlaod the MP3 files from there without going to the forums?
Anyways, thanks for your good work.

You can download the Tech Talk podcasts using the RSS feed:
http://www.grassnet.net/podcast/gns_podcast.rss
Or, you can download Tech Talk 43 here (http://www.grassnet.net/podcast/techtalk043.mp3)
That phpBB critical error is because the server my domain is parted on is out of shared database connections. There is nothing I can do to fix that.

Thanks for the direct link, Alan.
I am using that rss feed, but what I am saying is the post title links point to the forums pages for each podcast, however if those links pointed straight to the MP3's then downloading the new podcast would be a snap. Most podcast feeds are like that as far as I can tell.
Just a suggestion. I have no idea how your syndicating your Tech Talk podcasts...

I'll see if I can't rework the feed to point directly to the file next week.

Alan, I'm way confused! You are a "Treo user" and a Clie cultist. Have you sought professional help? :D

Variety is the spice of life! Actually, I consider myself a Palm OS cultist. And no, I haven't sought professional help. This is way too much fun.

About the mentioned editorial: "Stand by Your Clie" from Ed ?
Could it be I am missing that ?

Ed usually sends me the editorial a few hours before it gets posted. So, Reggie like me to discuss the editorial on the podcast. That said, by the time I'm done with the podcast, the editorial is usually up. For some reason, it's MIA this week.

"Where's the editorial? Where's the editorial?"(excited clie lover here :D)
Something good about clies is that it comes with MSbackup on board, which meens that your backup utility is still there after a hard reset.
The strange thing is that whenever I recover using hotsync, it always hangs, and terminates when it tries to recover my grafiti shortcuts. So I'd be forced to use MSbackup, and then up date the PIM data from hotsync everytime :(
Also, good to see the Tech Talk podcast back on air. (Which reminds me of the good old days of last summer, when there were 3 wonderful podcasts, 3 different hosts, weekly) Nice openning and ending music!

Ah, the good ol' days. There are still three podcasters: Tyler, myself, and don't forget Jim Mahon over a PalmOSC.com. This Week in Palm is also a good show. And Jim also does demos over at PalmCasts.com (He added video to my tutorial of Resco Backup - very cool. Check it out here (http://palmcasts.com/online/node). It's PalmCast #5.)
The only downside is that you folks are stuck with me for two shows instead of one.

The interview with Jeff Hawkins is missing from the website. Where can I find it?
Alan G
03-05-2006, 03:39 PM
Q-
I just followed the link in the show notes over to the NPR website. I'm listening to the interview now. The red listen button has the first part of the interview - The portion that was "on air". The Listen to the entire interview link below the red listen button, has the rest of the interveiw that was not aired. Both links are working. You do need to have Real Player or Windows Media Player to listen to the audio.

Spoiler warning - I've listened to said "Mobile Minute" segment and there is a brief mention of "Sharks" (Not the Tyler kind). But, it was mostly by Josh Curry. :)

The 1SRC editorial still hasn't shown up on the site. Does anyone know why? Alan, could you please paste in your copy of it here?
Alan G
03-07-2006, 03:48 PM
Q-
I've been in touch with Ed. He and Reggie decided to hold it back by one week. This appears to have happened after I was sent my copy of the editorial for discussion in the podcast. If it is not posted by Thursday morning, I'll go ahead and drop a copy in this thread.
