couldn't be any better.

in fact, one of my commerce profs linked to the same video on her personal faculty webpage. figures that she's a prof in the marketing department. haha

the ONE thing that they left out is the live demo and a crashing computer (remember Bill Gates and the computer/scanner crash? :D)

All I have to say is. Apple+Intel = the new MAC.

Oh, and we have a G5 OSX with 2GB ram and loaded with HDD space... It crashes EVERY TIME I TRY TO USE IT!
I'm not saying MS is great, Good, or even OK. But there's got to be a reason PCs hold 85% market share other then marketing.

I hope I didn't start something.

If your G5 is crashing everytime you use it, then there's something seriously wrong wtih the hardware. I would start with the "memory." Run an "Extensive Hardware test" on it. This should isolate the problem. Also with the first rev G5s, some units had video card issues, which Apple addressed this in later revisions and offered card replacements for the first revs.

Try pulling out all RAM except the default chips that came with he system and run it for a few days.

I've mentioned this before, buy my friend bought a refurbished G5 and had constant crashes. He replaced the unit more than once and had it in for repairs several times. He's a long time Mac user, so he was peeved that it was happening to him. But in the end, the problem wasn't the G5, it was a bad memory chip that he had purchased from a local shop. Once he figured that out, he replaced it under warranty and his G5 no longer crashes.

Seriously, your problem with the G5 is not normal and really needs to be addressed. Don't assume it's common, because it's not. Apple like any other hardware vendor can have occasional lemons, but fortunately for the marjority of us, that's not the case.

Sorry to read about your problems, but instead of living with it, call an Apple store and see if they can help, if the hardware test doesn't bring up anything.

FYI, ,my G5 is a DP 2.5 with 5G of RAM and it's rock solid as are all of my Macs. The last time it crashed, was last summer. And it was because of my own doing. I allocated 24 gigs of RAM into Mental Ray by adding to many zeros, and this brought the system down after 2+ hours of rendering. Yes, I'm a tard. :o

My TI-Book is just as reliable and I rarely shut it down. If I left any of my PCs on for as long as I leave it on, let alone constantly sleeped them like I do wtih my Macs, I would be in crash heaven.

There is a reason PCs have 85% of the market, because a few years back, they were the best solution for most peeps. Mainly because they were cheap and Apple wasn't very developer friendly before Jobs came back.
