To keep this thread fresh, I am posting again; can somebody send us a copy of the SMS app that comes with the NZ-90?
If it is in ROM, you can use FileZ to copy it to a Memory Stick.

hey, I don't believe this is illegal. We also have Sony Clie devices. Plus we have Sony bluetooth module. I believe we have a right to get that software.
So why does not anyone send it ?

Nobody wants to help, I don´t know why.
Last time I needed a file, it was for my N710; I needed a file that allowed the export and import of pictures. I ended up getting it myself from a ROM image; nobody helped...
Anyway, I posted a message at the TG forum, let´s see if somebody helps.

what is FileZ. I'd like to help you with the SMS program but tell me how to do it.
However I tried the SMS program wich comes with my NZ90 but it almost never worked for me, except when I receive SMS on my phone (Ericsson T39M) I do a "send&check" and it fetches the SMS from the phone to the NZ.
Hopefully I purchased after trying it a program called Iambic Mail and it works perfectly for me( except the send&check thing, no I'm not joking).

Hi Michel,

Filez is a free file management utility. You can download it from here (http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?sid=39CEFBFC-2EA4-4649-BF284F05EC8D927E&prodID=9992).

After you install it, click on its icon. It opens in a initial info screen. Click on View and Edit Files. On the bottom right of the screen you will see the word ROM. Click the checkmark next to it. It will reload the file list, and the files with the little chip next to them are stored in ROM.

You will have to search manually for the file, but it probably has a name similar to the app on the launcher (SMS*.prc, for example).

After you find the file, mark it by clicking on the name and the go to menu > file > copy, and copy it to a folder in the Memory Stick (you have to enter the path manually).

I hope you are successful. Did you try the phone driver downloads from the US site to see if the SMS works better with your T39?

Michel and Ikera,

I sent email to both of you. I tried the files and I get the following message when choosing "Send & Check":

"Unable to Load Phone Services, Please re-install Phone Services as described in your documentation"

I believe there are files missing, and I already asked Michel if he can look for them.

Michel, 1 more question, does the SMS software comes in the CD as an option to install? If yes, then you could send the folder from the CD to us.

I check the NZ90's cd installation and it has nothing to install for SMS purposes, and while browsing the manual I found this sentence "You do not need to install SMS
The SMS application is pre-installed at the factory.

So if you have any other ideas, I'm willing to help you

Hi Michel,

I installed them. It created a Phone category in Prefs, but it can´t open, it says "the application cannot open because of a system error".
The only reason for that is if some other file is missing, but I have no idea which one it is.
Do you want to do a final search for some other file missing that may be related?

Michel sent me some last files that could be related, and I just sent you those by email. Can you try with these and tell me if it works?
I restoring my Clie right now, when I tried to erase files I ended up going into a reset loop. The SMS would not get erased, and when I tried to change file attributes with Filez I ended up getting the error.
One comment: to install, copy the files first to the Memory Stick, and then to the internal memory. There is a problem with them being read-only.

The files work. Copy them to the Memory Stick and then copy them to the internal memory; after that perform a soft reset. You will also need to install the updated phone drivers files from the Sony website.
If anyone else with an NX needs the files, let me know.

Hi all,

I've successfully connected my NZ90 with T68ie through BlueTooth. Send & Check SMS is quite easily. Great!!

But, I wonder if we can send SMS through NZ, why we can not dial phone number in NZ address book?

Can any one tell me how can let NZ be a phone dialer?
