Today I had a problem with HotSync causing an invalid page fault in Kernel32.DLL. :( :( :(
It was processing MemoPad in HotSync at the time the page fault error message popped up in Windows.
I repeated the HotSync process several times, and it kept re-issuing the same Kernel32.DLL error while it was showing MemoPad was being processed.
First I tried to delete all Memos from memopad in my Clie, thinking that would work. It didn't. Same error in HotSync.
Then I used FileZ and set the MemoDB file so it wouldn't be backed up during HotSync. That didn't work either.
Next I uninstalled and re-installed Palm Desktop 4.1, but it still found the previous backed data from my user folder, and re-installed it, so apparently the Windows Control Panel Add/Remove software process did not fully delete all of the original data. I tried to HotSync .. and once again the Kernel32.DLL page fault.
Finally, I deleted the entire contents of the MemoPad folder under Palm\(my user id)\memopad. And did a HotSync ... and IT FIXED IT !!! :D :D :D
I re-tried HotSync several times after the fix, and I retagged the MemoDB file to backup in FileZ, and HotSync still works.
Just thought I'd pass this info along in case someone else has this problem.
