But why does it still not allow a thumbnail, and not show a file name?

It must be a problem with it not creating .mai files right. Now if only I knew how to edit a .mai file...
Can't wait to try this later tonight. Congratulations again, hee!!
But why does it still not allow a thumbnail, and not show a file name?
I was curious about the file name myself. I get the ???? when I have a mpeg1 file in the media launcher. As far as a thumbnail I remember reading on the forum not sure which one about how to get a thumbnail. But I could be mistaken.
What kind of file sizes are you getting with the MP4 files.

I know how to get a thumbnail, but it won't work. If I could figure out how to work .mai files (movie data files) I could get it to work :D
A Music Video at ~300 KBPS in 10-17 MB :D
Create an mp4 file using your ffmpegX preset template.
Renamed it M4V000001.MP4 and placed it in the MP_ROOT folder.
Media Launcher - no movies available
FMP - file not found
TCPMP - worked
30 minutes of The Office,
mp4 ~ 70mb
avi/mpeg1 ~ 130+mb

Your file name has too many zeros, I think.
You need to not change anything except the bitrate on the template or it will not work.
Okay I removed one of the zeros in the file name, still no luck in playing it. But Media Launcher did see the file with the empty movieclip and the ???. I made no changes to your template. And it still doesn't work in ML or FMP for me, but quicktime plays it. Well I will eventually get it. I'm tempted to use the PC and IC2.
It's strange regarding the zeros. If you look on page 83 of the vz90 manual, it has "M4V000001.MP4". 5 zeros. :)

Try this updated version:
http://dragonsgames.com/MP4updated.ffx.zip
I loaded the updated preset template and changed the quick preset from MP4 to PSP and it worked. 3+ min music video ~ 10mb.
Procedure on a Mac with OSX:
Ripper: yade x: to rip the dvd to vob
Encoder: ffmpegX: to encode vob file to mp4 (using dragon's mp4updated.ffx preset; change mp4 to psp in the quick preset on the summary tab - doing this also changes the encoding profile on the option tab to psp as well); then copy to memory stick
Player:ML, FMP and TCPMP
Thanks again dragon. :) Any luck with the thumbnail? What about the .THM file in the same folder as the movie and the .MAI file in the MoviePlayer folder.

What is the .THM file? :o
http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69398&highlight=thumbnail See post #27 and 32 thru 35.
Image converter creates the .THM file in the same folder as the .MP4 and .MAI in movieplayer.
Unfortunately no IC for the Mac.

I am going to try a screen capture of the movie, convert to .jpg, and rename .THM :D

Is .MAI a MetaData file? Maybe a programer can make a app that can create/edit them on a Mac :D
Too bad. What was the size of the jpeg? 160 by 160 pixels?

316x188
Could that be it? I am going to resize it and try :)

Don't know what type a .MAI file is. That would be great if there was a programmer that could do it. :)
