It is an amazing phone! BUT, it is not much of a Media Player without an expansion slot for extra memory...but you know, if you want to listen to music with your phone, i don't imagine listening to more than 3-4 songs at a time.
But i do use Pocket Tunes with WinAmp Modern skin, and TCPMP for movies on my T5

Na, I was referring to BT for networking. I actually was out of my house for like all day today and used BT to go to 1src and other sites to read up on stuff I would have seen at home. I got home and my battery was at like 75%. I've had days though where my batt would go down really low due to I started charging my device too early. One of the bad things about the mod. If my device stops charging early, the device will eat up the power from then on. Even with the charger connected. I think that natural but it seems more obvious with this mod.

Convergence devices lessen in quality in a particular area in order to gain other features. This is why the Treo can't play Battlefront either ;). Same reason the Treo is bad when it comes to widescreen movies and videos. It also is bad when it comes to a keyboard that allows you to write out long-papers (at least for me because I like to type with both hands). My UX has a EB40 Mod remember ;). It could do WiFi for more than 2 hrs. I admit my WiFi don't work anymore but my unit is second hand and 3 yrs old and its still working and still going for $300 on ebay. Looks like the public has spoken.
Remember Treo is popular due to Palm commericals and Cingular commericals. Cingular mostly for that commerical with the business dad and wife that had a baby.

Why must it be my standards. There are multiple users in the UX forum who use a UX who love the keyboard. Many may agree or disagree with me. But I come from a common consensus. I don't solely speak for myself. As for the 650. I did try it. Why does everyone assume I have not. I have not criticized the Treo 700p or 700w yet due to I have not tried them. I even said I wanted to probably get the 700p due to its has everything I want and its Palm's top priority to handhelds anyway. I'm still pending on if I want one or not.
Here is PROOF!!!!!!!!!!

http://jamerican.net/1src/UX50/TreovsUX/DSC00552.JPG
Look at the Exif data of the second pic if you don't believe me. I'm telling you I've tested the device. I've even tested the Treo 600 and it is even worse. I just can't type on the device. Its not my fault. Want me to get surgery and change my finger size to everyone else's so I can get a Treo? Seriously. I can't type on the device so I won't get it. All I ask is that Palm consider people with larger finger sizes by trying a slider or a blackberry size Treo (which is worse in my opinion).
People pay $300 for the UX because they realize there is no other device with Backup Media, Int. Media, Large Keyboard, Widescreen, rotating camera, extendable battery. The UX also has dedicated audio-processing chip which means that the processor does less. Basically, like a multi-processor. Just that one is for audio and the rest is for everything else.
In the end, it may just be smart of me to just get a laptop and forget PDAs once my UX dies or may just switch to WM. At least WM hardware developers try different things. Why do you think there is a Tablet PC, Media Center PC. Microsoft may not have the best software when it comes to something but at least there is a vision. Something Palm doesn't have. The only vision they have is making the same Treo is different colors and calling it another number. That's it. In my opinion, gaming on WM is way more prevalent due to the trial and error of Microsoft. While Palm stays in single-tasking street, Microsoft is developing and developing. Once multi-tasking is perfected, Palm will feel the heat. I love Palm OS but Palm is starting to just annoy me. Palm's limitations may even be the reason the CLIE became the PSP in my opinion. Sony saw the limits and left. Just like me, I may do the same. I see there is nothing but a handful of devices, so instead of forcing myself to get one, I may just adapt to one I really love hardware-wise then adapt to software. All I've heard bad about WM is PIMs and Multi-tasking. Both do not concern me for I love multi-tasking and want to work with it. PIMs are not important.
I really hope my UX hold on. Its my last hope for staying with Palm OS.

the UX(480x320) has a higher res screen then the psp(480x272). the psp does have more vibrant colors.(maybe) but the psp screen is known to have lots of bad pixals.

Truthfully. If you were to give the public a PPC-6700 running Palm OS and 480x320 screen and a Treo 700p with the same specs. I have a feeling there will be people who choose Treo and some who choose the PPC-6700. I would jump to the PPC-6700 in an instant. I know a lot of people would. People only have the Treo to jump to so they choose it. There is no other Palm OS device out that is a smartphone...yet.

Ja, Mike hasn't owned either devices, so his opinion is null. Just because you have used something in the store doesn't mean it's all like that. There is some adjusting you have to do, which obviously you don't want to, I can understand that, I really like the way the Treo keyboard is set up, i know all the short cuts that I need to and it works well for me.
Mike,
I consider your comment harrasment and have reported it to the mods. If you want to say something like that to me, do it by other means. Thanks
Jordan
The point I want to get across to you is that if a wider keyboard device was developed by Palm, that should not affect the original Treo. Just like the WM Treo should not affect the Palm Treo sales due to the different OS. It would become a matter PREFERENCE. If the WM Treo sells less than the Palm Treo or vica versa, Palm would not look at it as a matter of getting rid of one line, due to both products are unique. While the same goes for a wider keyboard smartphone. If the PPC-6700 ran Palm OS, people would buy it. It may sell more or less than the Treo. If more, then Palm will have proof that maybe slider keyboard devices are not a bad idea and if not. They may decide to keep or rid the slider design. But the fact that they TRY is the key. Palm originally disliked the idea of keyboards on Palm devices. I wanted all Graffiti 2. If they decided to try a keyboard. Why not try and extend the keyboard more by making it wider.
Just gives the user more of a choice of devices, than just the regular Treo design.

At 4.25 by 2.3 by 0.9 inches (HWD) and 6.1 ounces, the PPC-6700 is smaller than almost any other Pocket PC, with the exception of the i-Mate JAM, and it's lighter than the Treo. Surprise! Sliding out the bottom half of the device (on a slightly loose hinge) reveals one of the best portable keyboards we've ever used. This keyboard is simply terrific: The domed keys prevent mistyping and have a satisfying click. When you slide the keyboard out, the screen even rotates into landscape mode after a second or two of delay. The excellent keyboard makes the PPC-6700 even better for text-messaging than the Treo, as long as you don't mind grabbing the gadget with both hands to type.

The screen looks crisp compared to UX. For some reason, I've always seen WM with crisp screens. Not sure if it was the Today screen or what but they always look sharp. As for getting it, the screen is smaller than the UX's so I'm not going to jump at it. But just the fact that they said the keyboard is comfortable is funny. Also, its a phone with a 416Mhz processor. That should be enough. I'd be happy with that since I immediately liked it when I used it. Not sure it would take a week of using.

Multitasking maybe? Give it up, I'm not going to agree with you. Treo KB will always be, in my opinion, better than the UX. I don't know why you continue this thread when we have already established our opinions. Maybe you need to mature a bit? (HEHE just kidding, but seriously, let it go!)

I use my LifeDrive with TCPMP and some tricks. It's a common complaint that the LifeDrive's Microdrive implementation leaves something to be desired in its between-track audio smoothness. Pocket Tunes is a mess of between-track static, pre-2.0 update, and even TCPMP emits a slight "on/off" level change between tracks, detectable with quality headphones on high volume (Picard said he'll fix this pseudo-bug). Microdrive read head access is also slightly audible as-is with careful listen on quality headphones between tracks and outside of TCPMP. Falling short of removing the case and adding some careful aluminum foil insulation between the Microdrive and audio chip (or trying an SD card for music), I found that adding Radio Shack's Volume Control Headphone Extension Cord (42-2559) to the output will clean up the audio remarkably. The device acts an attenuator, eliminating noise, when used in the following manner: Output TCPMP at something like 80 to 100 percent and control the volume entirely with the Radio Shack analog dial. The small extension adds no tangible weight to my headphones, gives me out-of-pants-pocket volume control (great for when I'm walking or on the subway and don't want to flaunt my gear), and only costs $6.99. To compliment the extension's length and looks, I use the shorter-than-standard black PSP headphones now available at U.S. retailers. The PSP headphones are very efficient, by the way, with a snug, in-ear fit and a decent kick.
Don't they look nice together?

I think the Zodiac is the best general PDA I've ever had the chance to use. My previous ownership sort of goes:
Palm IIIe -> Palm V (faster) -> Tungsten T2 (better screen) -> Tungsten E (better sound quality) -> Zaurus SL-5500 (company device) -> Zodiac1 (woo). Hoping to get a Zod2 sometime soon.

Don't have a pic but my current player of choice is a Zodiac 2 (Love my ZOD!) with two 512 mb cards (1gb of music. Well, 700 mb, plus 300 or so mbs of games/pics). MP3 players are a little anemic I find, tend to be shrill on the high ends with no solid lows. So to juice the power a little, I cobbled together a CMoy Pocket amplifier built into a mint tin (is there anything better than Altoids?). Building the CMoy was really easy, just head over to the the Headwize site and look in their projects section. My Zod now outputs into the CMoy, which with its two 9 volt batteries, boosts the signal and pushes it out to my Grado SR60 cans. I don't want ear blasting volume, just a full freq response. Now I have good base, and have attenuated the shrill high ends somewhat.
