Hi There,

I'm new to this so my questions may sound simple. That being said,

1) Is it possible to play MP3 on my Nx70 while doing other things on the CLIE? It seems that you can't play MP3 while doing other things. Once I click to use other applications, the MP3 shuts off. Please help. The answer is probably, 'no, you can't use multiple apps', but I'd like to hear it from you guys.

2) How and where do I find out the list of programs that my laptop (which has the palmdesktop installed) that are waiting to be loaded on my CLIE on teh next hotsyn?

3) What's the difference between bluetooth and WiFi? And this is going to sound really dumb, but hey, I'm new to this :-P, Once I get one of those cards how in the world do I connect to the web? I currently have AOL at home and T1 (LAN) at work, so can I somehow use those services? or is there a 'wireless' network that I have to somehow subscribe??

4) When I'm ready to load programs on the CLIE and want to put the program on a Memory Stick, how do I do it?

Thanks, again. I said my questions are going to sound dumb to some of you. so.. yeah..

Answer to Q2. On your Palm desktop, go to the "Install" icon on the left of the screen, click on it, and it will tell you apps. that are waiting to be transferred at the next hotsync.

When you see the install list, double click on any file (a window
should appear) Then double click on the programs that you want
to install on the the MS (they should transfer to the right side)

Keep in mind some of the programs look for their databases in
the internal memory.

Peehdee I would recommend wifi since NX does not support bluetooth.. Do you have a broadband lan network setup at home? Either way you will need to set one up with a router w/ wireless access point built in or a router and a seperate access point. It may be tricky to setup network w/ AOL however... If your work has t1 it is highly likely that they have some sort of network established with a router..see if it has 802.11b wireless capabilites, which is all you need to connect your clie to the internet

Yeah, I'd agree with the WiFi card since you can use it at HotSpots as well as when you've a wireless network at home/work. :D

As for the bluetooth mostly you'll only be using it to sync with you notebook or something.
Oh...there's a Patch for the bluetooth (well, perhaps useless in this case since it's from the Japan Sony Site, meaning for NX pre-installed with Japanese OS)
uBluetooth Module iVersion 2.0jv for Palm with OS5
but for reference, here's the link:

My Bluetooth stick works quite nicely with a Nokia 6310i accessing email and internet via GPRS. The CD included is useless for the NX70, but sony UK has a driver update for OS5

i also get great service from my BT stick.. works great with my desktop and my SE T68i, as with anythnig else you just have to learn to use it to its best advantage, and plus i really didnt want ot reinvest in wifi when i have bluetooth on my desktop and my cell phone
