I guess I'm a little confused. I have the NX73V and have been wondering if I need a WL-100 or 110. What can I do with it? Am I thinking correctly that I can go to StarBucks or someplace that has wi-fi availability and get online with my Clie? Is it complicated or can I just plug in the card and open up NetFront and it will connect? I have a Air card on my notebook computer and know that it is somewhat different than a wi-fi card, but will it do the same thing? OR perform similarly? Thanks in advance.....

Get the 100. And it is just like the air card on your notebook.

The WL100 may have a slightly better range, and can be used in some Vaios, as opposed to the WL110.
I believe the NX73 is like the NX80, in that it already has drivers and Netfront installed, so you can just put in the WiFi card, open Netfront, and find a webpage. Oh, make sure you first go to your main "Prefs" menu on your Clie's main screen, open "Network", set service to Wireless LAN, create a new profile with SSID of "any", and leae the WEP KEY blank. This gives you access to any unprotected networks in range. That should get you set up. Then just go to Netfront and "connect now." Good luck.

Thank you !! I was torn over buying a TH55 or a WL100. From what I've read I think I'll go for the WL100. I do love my NX73V. I guess eBay is the place to look for the WL100 since they are no longer available?

Ebay is a good place to get wl100's, but they are pricey. Check out the thread "MINI releases wifi-1.0" which describes Mini's great new patch which allows use of certain other wifi cards which can be found for less money than the sony ones. For what its worth, I have a wl100 and it works great!

I checked on ebay for the linksys WCF-12 and it says compatible with Windows CE. Do I need to get one that's Palm OS compatible ??

Hi...pls check the thread 'MINI releases wifi-1.0' in this forum ... In there are listed a couple of wireless CF cards which can be used on the clie... presently am using a prolink wireless card.. and for info, it is working beautifully on my nx80v..
As for the driver, i guess the patch have taken care of it.. so it should not be a problem..

Just remember, the cost for saving money on the card is going to be less usable memory, because you'll have to have Mini's patch in memory. You have to decide which is better for you.

Hi,
I'm brand new here. I was about to abandon my NX80v for a PPC for the WIFI and CF capabilities. I am going to make a last attempt at getting the CF Utility to work and use a non-Sony CF WIFI card. My early attempts at CF memory was with the CF Magic utility, but it crashed a lot.
My question is where to find MINI patch thread. I did a search and didn't find anything.

Never mind, I just found it. I will try the Linksys card, as that is the only one on Ebay from Mini's site.
Has anyone found a CF WLAN card that is sub $40 that works with Mini's drivers?
