Incompatibility of Textplus with SuperNames.
Texplus Vers. 5.1 English
SuperNames Vers. 2.06 Lib 1.2.0
Doing any text input in Supernames causes a fatal error follwed by a reset when the textplus anywhere option of textplus is activated. Deactivating Textplus Anywhere Option fixes the problem(Of course with loosing the textplus functionality).
Is this a known bug with textplus and Supernames?
Has someone found this bug, too?

SuperNames: www.standalone.com (http://www.standalone.com)

I have the same problem and solved it in this way:
Textplus anywhere options:
enable "Enable", disable "All Aplications"
Applications:
disable "Spr Names" & "Super Names Access"

Supernames will not crash anymore, but of course supernames is not working with textplus. It is not a problem, because supernames has an autofil e.g. for City... .

@raabra1
Thanks for reply.
I solved the issue the same way you did by disabeling texplus only with supernames.
I donīt know if supernames or textplus has to fix it.
I will give wordwizard a try. Maybe it can replace textplus.
I will report later.

oh, oh.
word wizard is not working on my sony clie nx70v. The programm starts and i can enable the software in the main menu. But nothing happens when entering text in an input field. Seems to be a problem with os5. I have contaced the developers and will report later.
So at the moment there seems to be no alternative to textplus and i will use it with deactivated "anywhere" function for supernames....
Does someone know other software like textplus or wordwizard to try out?

Try using WordComplete.

I'm also using SuperNames and I haven't encountered any problem so far

Thanks a lot for your proposal. Just a few minutes before your hint i have tried Wordcomplete and as you said it works! :D  It was not so easy to get a trial version. At palmgear and the developers page you can only buy it. I found a trial at http://download.com.com/3000-2363-10044988.html
I think i will buy wordcomplete

I use SuperNames and TextPlus without any problems (SJ30).

@hherbzilla
maybe, but is the SJ30 a OS5 device? My problems refer to Clie NX70 (OS5) and Textplus 5.1 with supernames 2.06.
So maybe it belongs to the new OS.

Michael Right, might be an OS5 thing.

Good support by supernames developers!
Within 24 hours they sent me a fixed version of supernames that is said to work with textplus.
I will try and report later.
Very fast support !

I am little bit dissappointed. The new version i have got by standalone (2.1b6 Lib 1.2.7) has fixed the problem with textplus so far, that when entering text, the clie daoes not crash anymore. They semm to have blocked textplus in supernames. BUT: The predicitive text function of textplus is not available in supernames. So it is the same result as the solution described above (disabeling Textplus anywhere for supernames).
I will mail them this and will keep on using wordcomplete for the moment. Though having used tealphone for a long time, i donīt want to be without supernames anymore because it is much more flexible and configurable than tealphone.

The disadvantage of wordcomplete in my eyes is that it is case sensitive. So if you start a word with capital letters, that is stored in small letters it will not be predicted by wordcomplete. Textplus behaves a little more intelligent in this point.

This are the latest news on Textplus, Wordwizard and WordComplete with Supernames:

:( Textplus did not answer me (nor the developers of supernames) regarding the compatibility problems.

 WordWizard is not OS5 compatible, developers say they are working on a new version

:D WordComplete is compatible with Supernames, but lacks some features of textplus (see above referring case sensitivity)

:D Supernames: Good and fast support, good contact to the developers who sent me a new beta solving some of the issues with textplus.

I will report any news if i have some...

I do really understand the need of textplus or other in Supernames.

Supernames autocompletes fields like:

"Company, City, State and Country"

So you do not need further auto-fill in.

Also the built in address programm has this feature, so it seems to be generated by the OS

> I do really understand the need of textplus or other in Supernames.
____________________________________________
1. It is not essential for the adress data you mentioned, but it is usefull for notes atached to the adress
2. The autocomplete function of supernames only predicts words entered before. It has no Language Database like textplus or wordcomplete
3. Supernames and textplus caused a fatal error with reset (2 solutions how to fix were discussed in this thread)

So i think these *are* some issues with these two programms.
Fine if you donīt have any problem with it.
