Well.. Sony's gonna make you PAY for the damage... I don't know about CC. Did you purchase the extended warranty? If so, find out if you can exchange it for an equivalent model.
Did you try resetting your device? See what happens.

The lines on the right disappeared when I preesed the bottom of the screen. So I tried to fix it by putting a little piece of paper at the bottom of the screen.
It didn't work. Instead somehow I fu**ed it up moore.
Here's the picture.
Can somebody give me Sony's email address? I can't find it anywhere.
And can somebody tell me the approximate cost to replace the screen?
I could work my *** off this spring break and upgrade it to a nx70v if the cost is near $300.

I had a single white line along the right side of my NR70 without dropping it. I sent it in under warranty and Sony sent a prepaid mailer and fixed it gratis.
I think the screen is ok. There is a ribbon cable that jarred loose on impact and you have lost a few vertical contacts.

Yeah, that's definitely a loose ribbon cable. It's the one at the top of the screen when you open it up. It probably was jarred loose. I'm sure Sony would fix it for free.

Can anyone tell me how much is it gonna cost for repairing the lcd. A sony clie my cousin gave me got those kind of lines on the lcd screen but even bigger than nasdaq's clie. If its over $100 dollars I wont bother when I can get another one from Ebay around $170.

About 4/5 years ago a colleague at work purchased a Palm (can't remember the model number). I used a Psion 5 in those days. The main benefit, according to my colleague, was that he could drop his Plam, which he did a number of times, and he would never have a problem. With the Psion then and now with my NR70, I am always very careful. PDAs should be light and robust - otherwise there is little value in having one if you are always worried about dropping it and therefore less likely to use it as a truely portable computer. I suppose Sony Clie's are designed to be less PDA and more entertainment - not sure. Any thoughts?
