I am completely new to digital technology, much less, MP3 technology, as in I go "duh-uh". I hope someone can help me in the simplest of English terms. (No hi-tech jargon please) with my MP3-related problem.
My dilemna: After sticking my favorite Frank Sinatra CD in my computer CD-ROM, how can I pick some songs that I can install on my TG50?
I hope all you young fellas will take it easy on this 56-year-old old fart who has taken an interest in modern technology only now.
Thanks anyone!

You accually need 2 program, Audio Grabber & Xing MP3 encoder..
Audio Grabber is a program that rip all the songs from CD track into .wav file and Xing MP3 encoder will perform to compress the wave file into MP3.

Maybe one program is enough, e.g. MusicMatch Jukebox (I use RealOne Player) that can direct convert a CD track into a MP3.
Be careful that you do NOT set the conversion at variable bit rate, since Audio Player cannot recognize that.
After you converted the music into MP3, you can save it to your handheld. If you know the path, it is in the \Palm\Programs\MSAudio folder. If you don't even want to bother with this, you can run MS Import in your handheld and MS Export in you PC at the same time, and drag the MP3 files to MS Export, and it will do the transfer work for you.

Or use iTunes if he runs mac. He didn't specify his OS.
56 makes you a geezer? Yikes.

Try Audio Gabber (http://www.audio-grabber.com/cdrippers/cd_to_mp3_ripper.htm). Its very easy to use and its pretty cheap. Download the demo and pop your CD in. You should be able to figure it out easily.

Hi Geezer!
Gee-zee, your Geritol-soon fella-ette here. Most PCs/laptops come with Adaptec preinstalled. Check your Start menu. Follow this path: Adaptec Easy CD Creator > Create CD > Audio. That will walk you through what you need to do to move the music from your CD to your TG50.
(Worked for me, although I'm a "smooth jazz" freak myself.;))
