Hi,
I'm new here and have a question. Does anyone know if it is necessary or even possible to format the hard drive in the Lifedrive?
I've always used Palm OS since the beginning and was waiting for a large capacity drive with Palm OS. So far, the LifeDrive has performed well and am happy with my new Palm

so why do you want to defrag (ie mess) with it??

Well, I've always maintained my drives on my computers. So, I thought since I'm adding, deleting, changing, etc. to the palm drive , there might be some type of maintanance that can or should be performed on the LifeDrive.

Format, I do not know, I never tried that. Defrag however, simply put your device in drive-mode, and then use your desktop's defrag program to defrag it.

It should work.
Be sure you are running drive mode (the LifeDrive app), and not the LifeDrive automatic mounting feature.

It works for me.
Why would it be so odd for someone to create a simple defrag prog for the palm?

Thanks!!
