I have reached Zen for the time being. I have gotten my WL100 card and NX to connect to the WiFi networks at my high school and at North Carolina State University. If anyone goes to a high school in Wake County, North Carolina...

The network seems to be open, but I was not able to connect to it with the old WL100 drivers. Make sure to download the new driver from Sony. When you connect you will be able to use your AIM, ICQ, and Verichat apps, but you cannot use a web browser. I am using Netfront right now. In whatever browser software you are using, set the proxy server to proxy.wcpss.net Port 8080. Now you have web access. I am working on figuring out how to get access to the smtp server, but I'm afriad you may need to have an account to do this. (Common sense says so, but you never know)

Any North Carolina State University (NCSU) students, here is how you can connect to the Nomad WiFi network on campus. I know there is at least one of you out there, because I bought the open box WL100 you returned to Best Buy when you couldn't get it to work.

Set the SSID to Any. Hit connect and you should connect to the network. You will find, however, that you have no internet connection. Use a proxyless web browser (Netfront is the only one I could get to work that had the required security features, PocketLink didn't work). Goto http://nomad.ncsu.edu/login.pl At this page you enter your unity ID and password. When you submit this the network will give you an IP address for two hours. You can then exit the browser and use any software you want.

I just wanted to throw the information out there in the hope it may hit someone durring a forum search or something. I am so happy with my level of connectivity now.
