Does anyone know how to correct a backlight/frontlight problem. I have tried adjusting the brightness. It is at the max, but the back light is still dark. I have tried to look up the problem in Sony but only got "If the backlight feature does not operate correctly, service will be required to resolve the issue." Does anyone know how to correct this???

You can follow this japanese link where he teaches you how to repair the backlight on your own. http://tokiolapalm.cool.ne.jp/giken/031205backlight/TJ.htm

dmitrygr and dalego,

Thanks for the input. I followed the link and got gibberish but then found a link to the thread for this problem. I can't believe how many people were having this problem. I'm going to try and attempt to fix it myself.

Thanks again.

Hi Don't be fooled by crooks on the internet.
I recently bought a LCD from a guy on Ebay, beware the LCD for my TJ-27 was wrong, the metal bracketing was from another unit or different model. Besides that the ribbon cable was repaired but not repaired very well. The back lite was not working at all :( I emailed him and of course no relpy, after looking at the LCD I noticed the part # was the same as my cracked glass screen that I was trying to replace. To make a long story short I completely disassembled the whole LCD screen from the bracket, from the glass swaped out the bad parts and rebuilt the whole thing. It all works now :) , only because of my patients and skill in repairing small electronics ( It was once my JOB ). This guy is in Hong Kong so he's not local at all. Anyway keep away from these guys.

Just do a search for " LCD TJ27 "
