Please help with wl100

I am about to go crazy, can someone please help me. I have a laptop running xp on my office LAN network and I put a netgear MA401 802.11b wireless card in it. Can I make the wl100 card connect to my laptop and use it as my connection to the internet. Currently I connect with my laptop through a proxy on my wired network. Please help , Thank you!:)
