Hi there!

The point of all the following text: Palm crashes everytime loading the system built-in launcher/favorite app)

For some reason I had to reset my Palm LifeDrive. On next hotsync with the PC I don't get a 1:1 restore, lots of stuff is just missing, some is "misconfigured" and lots of this...

... I do a regular full backup in the night, using the Uni Commander (http://www.unicmd.de) which zip's (!) all the non rom based files in main memory up on to the HDD/memory card. So, based on this backup I tried a restore.

Restore has been completed, system is being rebooted and the catastrophy goes on: Everytime the Palm tries to load the build in Launcher/Favorite application, it reboots. No chance to change a thing.

On doing a (how do You call it properly?) safe reboot (Reset button + Up key) I can go to control panel, can launch LauncherX or UniCMD.

At this point I tried to delete all launcher related files in main memory. (All those I could identify as launcher related by name).

I got NO success in running the Palm LifeDrive like this.

I can install all the apps from the backup manually, copying them from zip file to memory. But this is just annoying :-(

Any idea? Any other backup solution? Any help? ;-)

Hi there... somehow with restoring certain files manually, the problem has been solved.

Gee, I am happy not having to install and configure everything from point zero!
