Learned about this TCPMP. Downloaded the msot current version. 71 Video plays find but no sound. I also downloaded the MCA2_05.test.prc & installed it. It is in the launcher folder on the memory card. I have tried playing movie files I made with the clie, converted with IC 1.5 & also wmv directly. All do not have any sound. I can paly the clie movies fine with sound in the clie movie player but converted movies don't play - freeze the clie- & I have quicktime 6.5 not 7 ainstalled.

I have made put the tcmpm.prc file in the handheld memory. Is that necessary? Also how many of the plug in does one really need & where shouls the go. They are in the launcher folder on the MS currently.

You must set in MCA2 for TCPMP Enable SPECIAL 1 (aeroplayer version)

MCA2 must be in Internal memory
fter copying it you must reset Clie and you enable it through "Prefs/MCA2"

hi,
i too had the same problem.. no sound from my tcpmp. i downloaded version 7.1 with the tcpmp.prc, mpeg4, mpeg1, ffmpeg and mp3 plugins all into my CF card... then took a video of my boy and had it dubbed using virtualdub.. the video looks good..but no sound... thought i got it wrong..so i tried playing one or two mp3 songs with the tcpmp, but to no avail.. perhaps any1 out there can help me out...
a million thanks in advance...... dexchan

Remember that all plugins MUST be in RAM! Unless you are using Powerun...

I couldn't get sound until I went here
http://www.aibohack.com/clie/modclieaud.htm
and got the MCA2 plugin and put it in RAM [26KB]. But I didn't know what to do next, so I launched PREFS and sure enough, there is was on the pull down list. After I enabled it, audio started working.

? Does anyone know of a free audio player OTHER THEN TCPMP that will recognize and play MP3s from the CF???

Thanks.

Not from the CF card, but I use AudioPlayer to play MP3s from my 1GB MS Pro Duo formatted as FAT16, though it doesn't work with the 4GB FAT32 CF card.

Thanks.

I installed tcpmp player on my NX80V and tried to play a MOV file created with IC1. Video but no audio until I installed the MCA2 plugin. But the video played back fine with MoviePlayer. Why does tcmpmp player need the MCA2 plugin out of interest

TCPMP requires MCA2 to give apps true OS5 streaming sound. Sony released their NZ/NX Clies without the proper OS5 SndStream APIs.

This has something to do with Sony using a proprietory API with the Clie's (The API is a software program that lets software talk to hardware). Only Sony audio and video software (such as the Audio Player and Movie Player) can work with the Sony hardware to produce sound. (I don't know why Sony did this) The MCA2 hack from Aibo allows non-Sony software such as TCMP, Pocket Tunes, etc to work properly with the Sony devices. I'm sure there is some members who could explain this is more technical terms, but that is my simplistic explanation!

Well whatever it is, it worked now. I used to use FMP but for some reason it's not working now and I didn't like MoviePlayer much since it takes up too much real estate with its controls. tcmp works fine now
