I have seen an uproar of browser related threads, and I was thinking that everyone rushed out for that deal at Best Buy.

Anyway...

Does anyone know of the speed differences between WL100 and WL110? I have not found anything on the internet. Are FCC white papers published, because I know that it just got FCC approval like last week.

I don't know if the new card will be better, the published specs on range are half the WL100.

I have had my WL100 for awhile now. I want what I want when I want it! Price usually doesn't factor in, not smart, but so what :D!

Hi Larry!

Yep, I'm the same way. Gotta have it yesterday, will I ever grow up hi-hi.

BTW, I helped a couple of people here at cliesource get one for the Best Buy price. I wasn't looking to make a dime on them (I had two extra ones) so at least I was able to make someone's day.

I had gotten one for $80 a month ago.. (actually $130 because I never sent off the rebate, I wanted to try it first) I returned it a few days ago because I was having trouble getting it to work on campus at NC State University. Hotsyncing wirelessly at home just wasn't worth $80 to me. Saw the deal here, ran and got one immediately. For $17 I'll find a use for it at home.. even if it's just VPN.

Icing on the cake? Tonight I got it working with the network at NCSU. Almost the whole campus is covered, and they are constantly expanding the access. I am so happy! :D

I don't have one, and I probably won't be able to get one. Thanks to having to pay state taxes and truck insurance around the same time, I'm too broke to get anything. I wish I could get it though.

This doesn't sound right unless it uses less power...

Well, I purchased a card on 31-Mar-2003 for full price ($149) and didn't like the fact that I couldn't connect here at work because of VPN issues, so on 7-Apr-2003, I returned it. AAAAAHHHRRRGGGHHH!!!!! I would have gone back for a price match to get the difference just to use it at home for $17.00!

Oh well. I guess i'm just not meant to have one!!!

Sounds dated but looks like they read the FCC specs, which should be official.

According to this article the differences are:

110 - made by Sony
100 - made by Symbol Technologies

110 - Two indicator lights
100 - one indicator light

110 - 200 feet indoors or 500 feet outdoors
100 - 300 feet indoors or 1000 feet outdoors

That's all folks,
Tom

I like the range of the old one. No joke from sitting inside my house on the couch in my living room I can pick up the AP of the guy across the street. That kind of range will come in handy when there is finally a netstumbler type app for palm.

Yeah, it's the typical retards buying multiples when they have no use for them. People like us only want one for our units but get screwed over by the trolls.

So eager to purchase one (maybe two...), but got no chance... for I'm so far away in Taiwan. :(

Yeah I got the WL100 at BB because of the degraded range of the WL110 and I thought it was downgraded to 100 feet on the WL110
