I'm new to the NZ90 and Bluetooth. I'm coming from an NR90. What can I do with Bluetooth capability? I have a wireless network at home. I don't use an Epson printer and I don't use an Eriksson phone. What else is there? Would I be better off with the WiFi card?

I run my Hotsync with an VAIO Notebook with included Bluetooth (not available in the US). A perfect Application is the connection with the Bluetooth GPS from EMTAC (or Socket). Bluetooth is more instead of a cable, than a network connection.

Hotsync with Vaio notebooks that has built-in bluetooth, or a simple USB bluetooth reciever. :D

Thank you, all, for your suggestions. I must say though that none are very exciting to me. A bluetooth keyboard, however, would be very nice.

sounds like a nice concept, bluetooth keyboard... hmm... :D
I think sony should have built-in wireless rather than bluetooth, don't you agree? would have been much more useful. unless you work in a bluetooth office environment or have many friends who use bluetooth enabled devices, or many NZ friends so you can transfer files without having to beam with the IR port.

I have to agree with "Eddy". I bought a BT adapter for the PC thinking I can Hotsync wirelessly and the WiFi card to surf the web. I now do everything via WiFi at a MUCH FASTER rate. I sometimes think, "what's that blinking blue light for???"

Soon all cell phones will come w/ bluetooth technology. With that, you can surf the web anywhere using your clie and your phone. I do it now with my NZ90 and SonyEricsson T68i.

I use BT and my T68 for surfing too, as well as my email when travelling/commuting. I use it to send contact info from my PDA to my phone (I hate typing in T9 and I hate duplicating work even more) and even sometimes I use it to dial infrequently used contacts in my PDA that I don't bother putting in the phone. Can you tell I'm very lazy? :D

I just went to the LA Palm Users Group meeting this past Saturday and they had Sony reps doing presentations on the latest Clies. They had the NZ90 there and a cool thing that they did was use the NZ90 to control their Sony Bluetooth Digital Camcorder. The display of the viewfinder was transmitted to the NZ90 and they could zoom and pan all via Bluetooth. Totally cool! I'm not sure the software is built into the NZ90 to be able to do that.

BT wireless headphones to be compatible with the Audio Player software.

Maybe in the next model...

Actually it was not a NZ90 but one of the smaller Clies they used to control the BlueTooth camcorder.

The panning were done by zooming the camcorder all the way out, then zooming the image off the chip. this is also the way they did the pan. Still it was very cool.

It was a cool meeting. (smile)

I use a USB Bluetooth adapter on my PowerMac and send images that I have caputre with the clie to the PowerMac. It is a great to be able to be able snap an image, select it in Clie Viewer and Bluetooth to the Desktop and then Email it, or File it, or whatever. For one or a few pics it is faster and less work than using MSImport or a card reader.

hey miked (like beastie boys do you?),

what was the model of that bluetooth enabled sony camcorder? I've been wanting to get the DCR-IP7 for a while now... because it's the smallest and most feature-packed camcorder that I've seen (that also can use memory sticks.. ). but sony's webpages doesn't seem to mention this model anymore even though it seems like you can order it from a lot of 3rd party companies.

here's an link to an old review of the camcorder (I know it's old, but just look at the functionality and size!):
