I have an NX-60. The one thing that I find the most anoying is how if the capture button is pressed while in my pocket, the unit turns on and starts wasting battery power and memory stick space. I have worked around this by flipping on the hold switch after shutting the unit off but that can be anoying when I forget that the hold switch is turned on. Is there anyway to disable the capture button when the unit is off but still allow it to open Voice recorder once I turn the unit on. Thanks in advance.

McPhling will allow you to map it to other apps through use of its "custom button" feature

There is the hold slider to lock the unit from turning on.

Just get in the habit of always using your thumb to disengage the Hold switch when you start to use the unit.

doesn't solve the problem that the switch is too easy to hit while adjusting my grip on the unit while already in another program!!!

You could try DefaultCapture (http://www.ogaoga.org/) to set a short press of the capture button to do nothing and, when you turn the NX on, configure a long press of the capture button to start Voice Memo. Think that might work?

I actually have Defcap, and you can't MAKE it 'do nothing.' It still powers on, but then won't power off. My 80% solution is to set short to nothing and long to power. That way, if I accidently power it up on my belt, it goes off after it times out. but if I'm adjusting my grip, I don't accidently turn it off.
Not 100% disabled, but it IS better then burning battery power recording the noise inside the case!
