Which one do u guys like better? (i personally like using agendus although it seems like db5 has more features)
I'd suggest a search of this site and just trying them out for yourself. Highly contested as to which is best around here:)

Datebk5, hands down. More powerful, better contact manager than Agendus, outstanding calendaring capabilities, powerful saved views, support for high density icons (in latest beta), hi res+ support, and the best support in the industry. In DB5, you can link multiple contacts and memos to appointments--great for tracking meetings with regular attendees. Yet with all this power, the basic interface of DB5 generally looks like the built-in datebook. That makes it easy just to pick it up and use it, or you can delve into the depths of its capabilities and master its power.
Datebk5's beta versions are more stable than Agendus releases. iambic has engaged in questionable business practices (see here (http://tankerbob.com/palm/iambic.htm). I will never do business with them until they clean up their act. OTOH, CESD, developer of Datebk5, provides super support and is a real gentleman. Plus, all his proceeds go to a wildlife refuge.

tanker_bob, that was a statement ;-)
i have agendus on my nx; might be that i'm just used to it. had action names (former version of agendus) on my palm v/vx running back in the old days. anyhow. like it's look and feel and functions but did never testdrive datebk completely (just installing on simulator ;-)
conclusion for gheffo: get the trial, check it out, make up your mind as this is the only way helping you to get the right app for your needs;
and by the way that method works with all apps where two or more good products are available like launchers (zl or ml or lx), sync-tools (intellisync, -to-go-, others), readers, office suites (-to-go, quickoffice, iambic, others), picture viewers (acid, splash) and so on and so on.
in fact i do not know any app which does something which cannot be achieved the one or other way with another (and that was my statement ;-)

Well, DateBk5 does come with a 45 day free trial . . . it's worth a look . . . the manual is also VERY well written, I recommend printing it out for reference if at all possible.
Also have to mention, that the DateBk5 developer is one of the most responsive & friendly I've ever met. He's VERY active on the Yahoo group, both helping people with problems and asking for feedback.

well written manual is an understatement. It is over 100 pages! I tried to convert it into repligo format but gave up about 10% of the way through.

I have used both and find myself using DB5. I like both, its just i like the DB5 features and it had a little bit better look.
Its totally up to the person though, contacts was not important to me seeing as Contacts 4 takes care of that.

Neither seem "just right" to me. I used Datebk for years. For the past couple of months I've been using Agendus. Thinking of trying Datebk again for a while, because Agendus starts slowly and the contacts view doesn't come up first when I tap the Contacts icon. But I like the coloured icons in Agendus. Shrug. 50-50 for me. Both better than the standard PIMs though.

I love Datebk5. I did try Agendus for a few months and found it to be confusing and it lacked the all of the power and robustness of Datebk5.

I have used both. I used Action Names/Agendus for a long time and just a couple of months ago I switched to Datebook5. They are comparable products. Datebook5 looks more like the standard datebook and has a few more features than Agendus. It is a bit more complicated but you do not need to use all of the features.
Why did I switch? One feature in DB5 did it for me. Floating events. Agendus doesn't have them. Agendus does have a nice desktop app to go along with it though. As was previously stated, try them both.

I saw the votes were tipping towards Datebk5, so I thought I'd add some Agendus comments. (I've never been interested in any of the "politics" regarding Datebk5 and Agendus, so I'll stay away from those comments).
Background: Bought Agendus as a datebook enhancement for my N610C. It ended up serving as my Contacts, DateBook and ToDo manager. It does all three very capably for me.
I must not be a power user, since I don't use track contact history or anything like that. But as a replacement for the aforementioned three apps, it works fine for me. Clean interface, nice icons, and lots of views. It's not the fastest app of all time, but I like it.
Support: Never needed to use it, so I can't comment.
I'd buy it again.

I forgot to mention that Datebk5 also can serve as a memo and todo app.

Threads comparing between Agendus and Datebk5 come up rather frequently, it seems. There are enough loyal users on both camps.
I am a loyal Agendus user myself. After last iteration of the thread piqued my interest in trying Datebk5 again, and I read the 100 page manual thoroughly. Clearly Datebk5 does have more features but the flip side looked to me that it would take a fair amount of efforts from me to make it work the way that I wanted to. After a few days of trial, I gave up the efforts and went back to Agendus.
The way that I handle my contacts just turned out to be supported well by Agendus. Yes, I will continue to be tempted to move to the other camp (after all, Datebk5 is more feature-rich program), but right now I am still happy with Agendus despite its shortcomings.

I actually do not use Agendus, but would suggest not using all caps for 2 reasons, 1) it is portrays shouting and 2) it is harder to read. :)

hvasov:
I think all you have to do is, put the contact name. If you start putting the Meeting, you should add Contact name on top too. And if you goto Contack list and to click on your customer's history, you'll see the a record of visits.

In Datebk5, If I,m not mistaken you can create a custom "call/action in Datebk5. Customize it and log information into a note field for that contact.

OK. If you want to have a log of call/to dos, it can be done automatically by checking "log when completed" from Preference: To Do Defaults. If you want to have a log of meetings, you click on the meeting to bring up a pop up menu, then choose "Log". Both actions put a line into the contact's note with date and description.
Of course, you can use "Contact History" to view past actions with that person without having to log entries.

Another vote for Agendus!
like trevor_d said, for the purpose of replacing the aforementioned apps, it is doing just fine for me.
The last time i use Dbk5, i notice it's just not possible to do a simple task like drag-n-drop item from date to a different one in the week view, coz i do this a lot! :p
