Two questions:
1. What is the name of the Clie system font?
2. Is it possible to load this Font on a Palm TX and use for the OS 5 system font?
3. If it can be placed into RAM, could you walk me through the steps?

I just like the Clie system font over anything available on my TX.

I hear that font smoother is good. Link here (http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&prodid=90288&PartnerREF=&siteid=1)

Can you tell me the name of the font?

Do you mean the small fonts (in Launcher, NetFront, etc.)? There are some files, I think HDDHalfFont, HalfFontExtn. Perhaps other files, too. But I don't think that you can set them as default font without software extensions.

You're talking about the thin-font on the Clies? Yeah, I like that a lot better than the 'standard' Tapwave/Palm font too :D

I had a look through my TH55's ROM but I can't remember what the standard font is called :(

It should work 'tho if you just copy it over.

The small fonts won't work, since the T|X doesn't support them like Clies do, but I guess that's moot since you didn't ask about that ;)

Anyone know what file we'd need to copy to change the main system font(s)?

Alex included Small Font support for Clies in version 1.65 of his FontSmoother product; however, I have not got it to work on the T|X with the small font libraries installed....

The files you need are:
HalfFontExtn.prc
HDDHalfFonts.prc
HRFontSel.prc
HRLib.prc

As I said however, getting them to display in programs not designed to use them appears to be a bit tricky right now.

He *doesn't want the small fonts*

He JUST wants to change the MAIN/STANDARD SYSTEM FONT, the one you see when you, for instance, open Memopad!

<Clarification>
Just in case you don't know what I'm talking about (I guess only people that have used Clies AND OS5 Palms/Zods would realise there is a different font on the Clies?), the default font on Palms and Zodiacs is this fat chunky font that is easy to read but very cramp-feeling because it's so chunky.
Clie's OTOH have always had (Since OS5 HiRes extension days) a very thin light font, which I find easier to read in text because there's more white-space. You do need to be at least slightly myopic to be able to read such a font for long periods 'tho ;)

A lot of people didn't like that font, but some people (Well, me) far preferred it to the fat Palm font.
I don't know if you can just swap the font over, or whether you actually need something like FontSmoother or some other Font hack thing for OS5.
I've never actually used any fonts except for the anti-aliased TTF's I patched into WordSmith on my Zod (I now use the WordSmith thin HiRes font without anti-aliasing. I've decided that sub-pixel anti-aliased text sucks as much on PDAs as it does in Windows XP.)
