Now that I have a clie NX60 which I love, I sold my FujiFinePix 4800 digital camera, and replaced it with a Sony Cybertshot DSC-p72. (MS Pro compatible). Its great to take memory stick out of camera and put into my PDA.

Now I find myself looking for other stuff which can accpet Memery sticks.

If there was a Sony Car Stereo head unit which could accept MS Pro, I would buy it. It would be great to carry a 512MS or 1GB stick and swap from PDA, to Car with no hassle. I have very nice sound system in my truck.

Other stuff Im thinking upgrading to accept a MS....
... next mobile phone
... next printer
... mouse with ms reader

Anyelse falling into this trap too?

It isn't working for me. Sony does make great stuff but not always exactly what I am looking for. It would be nice to view pics taken with a digi cam on my NX but I am looking at buying a Minolta Dimage Xi and a Canon Powershot G3, neither of which use MS.

Sony makes a head unit for car audio that includes a 10gb built-in harddrive and a slot for MS for playing mp3s. Sony MEX-1HD

I have seen a Sony mouse with built-in MS reader.

I'm trapped by Sony
First using the DC from sony, and stuck with MS. Then upgrade the visor to Clie, so that I can get well use of the MS
Still looking for a good DV, no doubt, need to accept MS as well

I feel trapped in a horrible way. I have decided that the next Clie I will get will be one with a CF slot so that I can use the new driver so that I can use more standard memory such as CF memory, or with an adapter SD memory. I feel it will liberate me from Sony's horriblely restricting memory card. There are simply not enough things that use it.

Warning, your Sony Cybertshot DSC-p72 will probably be discontinued in 2 weeks.

The Canon G3 ROCKS. My friend just bought one over the weekend.

CF also ROCKS!!! The 4GB Microdrives should be out soon along with the 3GB CF.

My home computer has a memory stick slot (it is a Samsung computer) as well as my laptop (a Sony Vaio). Sony is tempting me to sell my old digital camera (an Olympus that uses SmartMedia card) and buy a Sony's camera instead these days.

Well, I am also sold to SONY but I ain't like it.

I had may first DigitalCamera before I own a PDA. Obviously it uses SD cards instead of MS. So I already have two 128SD cards. I have a SD card reader for the PC too.

But now I have a SONY PDA and I am left with no choice other than buying another 128 MS card, while I am having two SD cards.

I can't swap the SDs with the PDA. So my pictures have to run around from Camera to PC to PDA. It's a mess.

Also gotta a SONY TV, a Walkman, a VCR and a VCD Player none uses any of these though.

And soon it will be the time to upgrade my Dicam, so no choice it will be another SONY since Canon doesn't make PDAs to be compatible with their cameras.

I love SONY gadgets but hate their proprietary stuff makes me sick.

What would I do...

I had 2 Sony digital camera and T665. It was great to be able to view what you shot with your PDA. I settle my laptop with IBM because of the keyboard but i don't find it "advantage" to have a MS slot in your laptop. Nevertheless, I have a UBS MS adaptor. I must said that i began to be hypnotize by MS...specially with the 1G MS Pro.

I will let you know!, So far regular pics are a snap with the Sony DSC-P72. It takes great pictures. I went to Goodguys so I could play with it before I bought it. I definately would recommend it. I am sure its not the best camera out there, but I like it better than my previous. & For me, having the memory stick slot , makes it better than any other choice, in my opinion (since Im not givng up my NX60 anytime soon).

not sure I have Kinoma yet as I haven't tried to play any Mpegs so far. Is that additional software, or bundled with the Clie? Im sure it will work great.

Someone mentioned something about a Sony car deck with 10gb storage and memory stick. SOunds great, although I hope they come out with a version with just the MS slot, and not the hard drive. Otherwise be a little too spendy.

I hadn't though about a TV with MS, but thats good idea for viewing pictures. However probably dont need that, as My SOny DSC-P72 digital camera came with an video cable that will hook directly up to a TV, so not a huge issue here.

I think Im going to pick up that USB MS thingy, that would be perfect for my laptop and transfering files laptop to laptop for business.

Well Sony's going to make a lot of money off me, sounds like. But Im never dissapointed when I buy the best stuff.

My first Sony laptop had a memory stick slot, so I bought a Sony Cybershot; then I upgraded my laptop to another Sony (SRX-99). My wife gave me a Sony Network Walkman for my birthday. Shorly thereafter I got a Sony Digital Printer and then I got a Cllie NX-60---I guess I am addicted. Memory Sticks are frustrating at times but when everything works correctly it is nice. I still think Sony is the best.

excluding MS compatible products, I addicted to Sony for long long time. From Walkman to discman to MD player, TV, Hi-Fi, Playstation 1 & 2, Digital Camera, Clie, even cell phone (well sony ericsson, half sony) all Sony. I've to admitted that Sony have some good products and good technology.

OK, xfer regular pics is no problem. They show up instantly.

regarding MPEGS: I just took a small movie with my DSC-P72. I took out the Sony 128 MS, and popped it into my NX60. I opened up the standard Movie Player on the NX60, and the movie was there. Very simple. However it wouldn't play. The screenwent black then gave me an "internal error 8012" message. So now I am a little bit confused/concerned. Anyone have any help here?

I also installed Kinoma, it seemed worse because it didn't even show the Mpeg file as being on my clie.

Anyone have any suggesstions?
I am fairly new to the Clie and also new to the camera, so not sure if I am doing something wrong.

There might be a different save option for movies with in your camera's menu. If not, then it's a trip to your desktop to convert the movie for your Clie'.

You should check with SONY, they should have some type of compatibilty plan if they're trying to push people into the MS experience. If you don't get any feedback from their brilliant automated support, then there's always www.planetfeedback.com.

I would just like to say that the worst cordless phones I've owned were produced by SONY. The last one cost $225 and was worse then the one it was replacing. But it did work OK for about 2 months.

My guess is the answer lies in your p72 manual . . . most likely changing the format/save option for Mpegs. I would stick with qMovie until you get one to work on it, and then try Kinoma. Thanks again.
