View Full Version : Is 3GX Software/PalmRevolt dead/dying???
I think one of them may be. I bought PalmRevolt on 9/7/2005 at 12:46:09 through ClickApps as offered on the 3GX site at the time.
It could be me missing the obvious (wouldn’t be the first time!) but…
In December 2005 I went back to 3GX website to get an update but couldn’t figure out how to do it as the ClickApps link had gone, and ClickApps doesn’t offer the latest version any more. In fact, just did a search on ClickApps and I don’t think they now have any version of PalmRevolt.
No problem I thought – just contact that nice bloke Andrew at 3GX and he’ll sort me out.
Alas, no. Since December, I’ve now sent 6 requests via email and their “Contact us” web page and not had a single response.
Not impressed
Andrew, I know you check in with these forums from time to time, so please will you help me? :o
Anyone else out there had problems getting help from 3GX?

I sent a pre-sales question, and it was answered in about 24 hours (which is good considering I think he's on the opposite side of the world from me). This was in the past couple of weeks I think.
And I forget how I bought mine, but a reg code was issued, so I can just download the "demo" version on the 3GX website and it works just fine. Did the ClickApps way not give you a reg code to use?
EDIT:The last update to the program appears to have been Dec 23rd, 2005, so it stil is being actively developed. Maybe a spam filter is preventing email communication?

While I haven't talked with him for a while, he is a most supportive developer. Surely there is some sort of filtering issue as applejosh is referring to.
If you notice, in addition to the app being updated, there are several new skins listed on the site as well as updated versions of the skin documentation.
I purchased my copy through PalmGear. Installing the new version on top of the previous version has worked fine for me.
Thanks for the suggestions. I use Outlook Express and will check out the filtering idea. Thing is though, I've also used their web form as well...curious.
Can I re-download the demo version and just re-enter my reg code if I needed to? I thought there we're separate PRC files.
At least it's good to hear it appears to be alive and well.

Well, I was actually referring to any kind of spam filtering your ISP might be doing. For example, I use Yahoo for a lot of my Palm app registrations, and over half the time, the reg's land in the Junk Email folder. If you have an ISP who does spam filtering, then you might try contacting giving a different email address (and reference the original email you registered with).

This is first time, I hear that PalmRevolt is sold on ClickApps. I received your emails and have answered on every one. I don't know why you haven't received it. Probably because some SPAM filters on your mail provider side.
Anyway, you can simply download the latest version from www.3gxsoft.com and install it.
Thanks Andy - you've restored my faith. :D I have an electronic copy of the original ClickApps order details/invoice if you're interested? I'd never heard of them until I bought PalmRevolt.
You guys must be right - I think my ISP must be up to no good as I have no filters etc on my side of the fence (that I know of!)
Thank you BuRnN for the offer to send it to me. I've downloaded the demo and it appears to work just fine without the need to re-register. :)

Please send me this order. It's rather interesting... Please use another email address if it is not difficult for you.
Sure, I’ve got the ClickApps invoice and all that – but its for Landscape and not PalmRevolt. I bought PalvRevolt through your site Andrew.
All is well.
Can someone confirm which is my arse and which is my elbow!!! :o
Thanks guys for your help. I’m off to my therapist now….
