View Full Version : Question about ZLauncher 3.x File Manager

This is probably a stupid question.... but I figured I'd ask it anyway.

When I launch the FileManager for ZLauncher and select the INTERNAL RAM area.... it shows both the ROM and RAM areas. One can choose to see ALL RAM related files, ROM Files, and RAM Files.

I know there is a program out there called JACK-FLASH (not production yet for the NZ ... but works with other CLIE Models) which can be used to move files from the MS or Internal RAM into the flash area.

I know, looking at the ROM area.. this seems to be the FLASH area of the PALM.

Can we move files in and out of the ROM area with ZLauncher File Manager? It doesn't seem one can... so I'm not entirely sure as to why we can see the ROM files... if we can't get move things in and out ....

any thoughts?

Only Jackflash can move files to ROM.

That was what I thought....... I'm not sure of the purpose to show ROM files then.... if there is no access to them... to move things in and out.... *puzzled*

You can still copy the files and such.

Although you can't move files out of ROM, you can copy files from ROM. Also someone may want to be able to see what files are in ROM and can't be deleted or moved.

You could always copy the ROM file to the memory stick, if you had a need to. In fact, the RMCEnhancer program pretty much requires you to copy the RMC databases out of ROM so you can modify them and copy the modified ones into RAM to be able to control more devices with the RMC.
