View Full Version : ZLauncher - Enhancement Suggestion

Would anyone agree that it would be nice to save an entire setup? Call it a "scheme" or a "setup!" I would have one setup as a lean, very little showing, transparent, "eye-candy" edition. I would have another with all the tabs, tools, bells, whistles, maybe no background. Then I might have another in between. I could toggle between them from a drop down menu and choose which scheme or setup, and boom :) , change everything! :D
I like this idea. Give them an e-mail and I might too.

Great idea! I'll be looking forward to seeing this.

At least they should adjust the Tab Icons' display and make them located at the center of the tabs. Right now they are a little bit off the center to the up side. I guess you all have noticed this.

I'm still hoping to see more control of icon placement in future ZL releases.

I actually wrote zztech about this a few weeks ago and they said at the moment there weren't any plans for implementing a feature that would allow users to move icons throughout the "desktop."

I would like to have icons only tabs including active tabs. We can still name the tabs, but have an option to hide ALL names. LX have this feature and allow more tabs to be placed.
I'd also like to see more games icons for tabs and maybe a way to import from IconMgr's Icon sets which is compatible with Agendus, DateBk and handyShopper.
Additional features to the File Manager would be great too, like ability to receive via Bluetooth/IR non PRC/PDB files like McFile and the ability to change File Attributes like Filez. Adding a ZIP/UNZip feature would be great too.
Then we can get rid of some of these programs which justify a bigger ZLauncher. Maybe these can be in the form of Plug-Ins so only those who needs these features can add them like LXBrowser of LauncherX.
Yes? No?

ZL already does this.

what about this? : the pop up settings bar having more than just four rarely used things-- mabye adding some more icons for all the things you get in the mini text based pop up thing-- and cleaning up the drop down menus!

Not exactly. Active Tabs will always show it's name. I want to be able to name tabs yet have the option to hide them, even in active tabs.

Just set "Hide caption" in the Tab Properties window, and deselect the "Auto hide tab caption" in the Display Setup window. Then even the active tab will not display its caption.

Got an email from the developer saying he would consider the request! :)

:-( I wonder why they would pass up an upgrade like that? It would, at least, be nice to left/right justify the icon spread on the screen. YiShow can do this........I wonder why they wont?

and make sure you have the latest version. you couldn't do this before, as discussed here http://www.cliesource.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9431
but it is now possible...
What would be nice would be an option to display a backimage in only one tab panel, the rest would have no image. The reason being: I would like to have a "cool" image displaying in a tab like "Unfiled" or one specifically set aside for that purpose, but then when I switched to "Main" or "Games" etc. there would be no clutter on the screen, just the apps.
