I downloaded Datebook5 and have the regular calendar that came on my T/E2. Do you all go strictly by your Datebook or do you still use your calendar? I'm finding some appts don't show up on my Datebook calendar so have to go back to my regular calendar. Just wondering what you all use? Thanks so much!

There's no reason all your appts can't show up in DateBk5, so you should be able to use DateBk5 exclusively. You may want to go into the category selector (/6 or by tapping the menu bar) to make sure they're all being displayed.

FYI, DateBk6 is in the works.

I have a T|T3 and use DB5 in lieu of Calendar.

-Calendar's Today screen integrates with Tasks, but I don't use that at all. I use DB5's integrated floating events as Todos or tasks. I can wait until i get to my PC at home or work for weather and stuff.
-All the other views in Calendar show up better in DB5. Sure, the alarm icon and the other Cal related icons (repeat event, etc.) in Cal look crisper, and also integrates with Birthdays set in the B-day field for Contact entries. But trading that for floating events, color fonts, sized fonts, some links, and being able to set different alarms for each event is more useful for me.
-DB5's other views are useful, even tho i spend the majority of DB5 in daily view. Weekly text view helps minimize scrolling, yearly view is good for planning far off future events, and straight up 'all the events you have listed' view is great when u just wanna know all the things that needs to be done from now till a set date.

I've bene using Datebook+ (this is a stripped down version of Datebook3 that additionaly came with the Palm standard Datebook app) for almost 2 years on my Handspring Visor and Handspring Visor Neo. Datebook5 had MANY new features, many of which I don't bother with nor need, but for the most part, there was very little learning curve going from Datebook+ to Datebook5.

mikegehl is right. Cal's and DB5 use the same database so there isn't any reason you shouldn't be seeing it in Cal and not in DB5. Check the categories, but also double check u haven't inadvertently marked or set entries to be private going between those apps. Fancy DB5 apps also show up in Cal, but with special DB5 markup since Cal isn't capable of displaying the colored fonts, sizes, icons, and other DB5 specific formatting (think viewing HTML with M$ NotePad).

Finally, keep in mind that if DB6 sparks interest, the dev did say he'll grant free upgrades to anyone who bought DB5 after 1/1/06. For the rest of us who aren't entitiled to this, the suspense of how much the upgrade will be is killin us

DateBk6 has a new "Today" view and can display birthdays from the Contacts database.

i'd prefer it to be displayed in all the other views as well, esp. Daily view. Oh well, either way, I'm gonna check out how Datebook6 works out for me.
