Clie NR70/U and Palm OS 5.0

I think I made a mistake and paid/upgraded DataViz Documents to Go to version 8.001 (143) and now when I try the app on the NR70/U it states I need Palm OS 5.0 and currently running 4.1.

Can I install Palm OS 5.0 on this handheld or not?

Sorry, you can't. What you're asking for is the equivalent of getting Windows XP to run on a 6-year old Mac.

OS 5 runs on an ARM processor (usually 200MHz) which emulates the Motorola 68k processor (Usually 33MHz, in your case, 66 MHz), that is, the processor which all OS 4 and lower devices have built in. This means that if the program contains one line of ARM instruction code (which the 68k processor cannot emulate), you can't use it.

I would contact DataViz and plead for your release from paying for it, considering that you can't physically use it. You might ask them at the same time what the newest version is that you can get for the NR70.
