I received the Li-Ion Polymer batter for EB40 and I'm charging right now.
It's 2200mAh. (1600mAh to 2200mAh)
Do I have to modify my EB40 completely? No.
Since I couldn't find the white plastic connector from original battery, I had to cut and connect it to new batter. That's it.
What would be my battery's size? It's 50x60x6.8 (WxLxH, mm)
I was reading this may push almost 2400mAh, but is shows 2200mAh when I received it.
Here is the picture of my new battery.

Does it have a protection circuit? Where you find it?

Yes, it does have a protection circuit as well. You will be able to see it from the picture. Where did I find it? I got it from Li-Ion Polymer manufacturer. (Free of charge.)

Wow, that's cool. By any chance would that manufacterer sell them to us?

What are the dimensions of the original EB40 batteries? I'd like to know as I could then upgrade my JC40B from 1800mAh to 2200mAh (or even 4400mAh if you can squeeze two batteries in!).

EB40 battery's dimension is 50x60x5 (WxLxH) and it's 1600mAh. You better measure the dimension of the slot first. Then look for the closest size of battery.

Hmmm....and additional 18mm of height is never going to fit into the modified JC40 :(

m0nkeyb0y,
My bad on dimension. It's 50x60x6.8. (Normal one is 50x60x5)
And it's only 1.8 mm. Sorry for misunderstanding.

No probs ;)
I suppose with a small amount of padding to to increase the depth of the cradle, the larger battery could conceivably be fitted after all...

That battery looks cool. Wish I could get one lol. My eb40 mod is not as powerful due to it has old and new batteries mixed together. It does the job though. At 100%, after watching 6 music videos at 50% brightness, my device is at 50%, then it jumps to 99% then to 88%, then to 90% them trickle charges back up percent by percent to 95%. I might have to check the connections and do some tests.

JAmerican,
What apps do you use to watch the music video?
I watched movie with TCPMP which costs more battery life and after 3 hours with 100% brightness it shows that it still has 45% of battery. (Of course if I close the apps, it will go up to over 50%.) So I guess it will stay longer if I watch them with 50%. (This is so cool.... I think.)

I use FMP with my 2GB stick at 50% brightness but I only watch videos for like 30 min. then it goes to 45% but then it jumps back up. My batteries are not all new so this is causing me some issues.
I have a Running Power Battery from Ebay. I added it and it being brand new seems to be working better the older battery that used to be in its place.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I have two of the Running Power batteries from eBay in my JC40B but have not yet had a chance to carry out a proper battery test.
My internal battery did 105 minutes on the test. My incomplete test of the JC40B managed 143 minutes without dropping below 100% - sadly I had to cut the test short :D

I have run the battery test and it has completed after 214 minutes. The battery had only dropped to 93% at 50% brightness so maybe the battery testing app had run out of steam.... :D

Could we see some pics m0nkeyb0y? I also placed the RunningPower back in my UX to find a major improvement in power. My internal battery was definately bad and needed to be replaced. I used my UX all day today without it going below 70% compared to before when it went to 40% after playing videos for a few minutes. The protection circuit is working which is a good thing to know :)

Two questions Sonypenguin:
The battery says "3.7 volts" - isn't that low?
What sort of "protection circuit" does the battery have?

palo1,
3.7 volts is normal for all kind of portable electronic items such as cellphone, PDA, etc.
The input voltage is 5.2V in many cases, but actual Li-Ion Polymer battery will be 3.7V. Even it says 3.7V, the battery mechanisim is to be charged up to 4.2V (full) and it will discharge. So if I run the BatteryTest, it will show as 4.2V.
I know that I was kind of puzzled at first time but I guess the detail can be explained by battery expert or engineer.
The protection circuit is attached to battery itself. The manufacturer will ask if I needed that? (I think the circuit actually controls the electric current as well.)
So the Li-Ion Polymer batter that is used on RC doesn't have the circuit since the battery need to burst it's power whenever it's needed. However our PDAs supposed to use it's battery with steady power level.
