I am looking for personal opinions on current Database apps for PalmOS. I have seen the following

Database Viewer: Microsoft Access Database Viewer
HandBase: Nice UI but missing something
ThinkDB: Since changed to Database to Go I belive.

I am looking for the following

Nice Clean UI, ala' Contacts 4
Robust Features, navigation database creation
Compatiblity, either a Windows or MacOS manager or ability to read Access like database files.

Suggestions requested.

Thanks

Smartlist to Go by Dataviz (Formerly ThinkDB) works very well as a database program. It does not support 320X480 but you can customize the colors within lists & forms.

It has a clean interace (KISS unlike Contacts 4) and has very powerful capabilities for expressions and filters. The desktop manager supports Access.

I love this program.

I have been using thinkDB (SmartList To Go) for a couple of years. Pretty disappointed there have not been any updates lately but still serves my needs.

Handbase has replaced thinkDB on my Clie. The new Forms editor is the best.

Hello mnapier,

You say that Handbase is missing something. What is it that is missing?

I have been using Handbase for about a year and I have learned quite a bit about it. DDH Software has some excellent on line documentation and a full pdf manual that you can download. I have also found a wealth of user-created databases.

I find it a bit hard to design a database on my Clie with Handbase, but their desktop program works very well for me. Some of their versions even come with a forms designer to help you create input forms.

HanDbase is the first database program that I have tried. I have not tried the other database programs that were mentioned yet, but I am very happy with using it.

Good luck in your search for a database prog.:)
