View Full Version : How's Armored Core for PSP?
I've recently seen Armored Core but I don't know how it performs. Is it worth getting?
goth, have you tried this?

Not yet, but it definately interests me.
I remember playing the first one back on the the original PlayStation and it was fun then. They let you pretty much build your own mech and things. Haven't heard much beyond magazine reviews on this one.
I'm hoping a video store near me starts renting UMDs soon, because I would like to browse titles before I buy (especially with PSP games being as expensive as console games now).

GET IT! Out is the missions and in come the arena. Its basically robot wars. You are set up with 5 mechs you can customize. All the parts are already loaded and you go and make your mechs. Thing is, if one mech has a part, no other mech can use that part so you can't have 5 same killin machines. I like this format better because it fits the PSP gaming format. You can play anytime you want and the battles doesn't last long, like 3 mins or so. It has about 30 mechs to battle against and they will send you to the garage again and again trying to customize it so you can beat that mech. The controls are much easier, at least for me. Must buy for the PSP library! You can also edit your emblems like always and the graphics are beeeatiful :D. You can even replay your death or your victory :D
Thanks! I'll get it then. :)
I'm not sure if UMD rentals will take off but how about game rentals like Gamefly.com? Is Gamefly reliable?

Thats weird, I thought everywhere did rentals for PSP/UMD. Over here we can rent PSP games and movies before we buy so its not bad, but I went out and bought AC before renting because I always love mech customization games :D.

Customizable mechs are cool, but not as cool as puppies. :p

Hmm, puppies? :D
I don't know, it looks cool, but I don't play "new" videogames. I still play Banjo Tooie on my N64... (whatever happened to Banjo Threeie? ;))

There, JackAxe. Fixed it for you.
You're welcome. :D
Speaking of puppies, try Fate (http://www.fatethegame.com/). You can get to have a dog for a pet ... which can change forms (and powers) depending on what kind of fish you feed it.
Alas, Fate is only for Windows.

Sometimes I am 10, well at least mentally. :)
Plumbers are cool too, I just don't want to be one besides in a game. :D
They have dogs in that new game Obsidian(Something like that.), but they're artificial and don't behave like a dog. I've been spoilded with Nintendogs.
I like mechs, but haven't played any of these games since the mid-nineties.

You might check out game stop. etc the local store lets you try out titles if you bring in your own PSP.
The only complaint I have heard about Armored COre is that some don't like the button configuration however when I first started my game it had a section which would allow to change the control buttons, so I am not sure what the problem is.
