View Full Version : iambic Mail crashes in an NX

i just purchased iambicMail 3.07 last night...

and while i was going through setting-up the various email accounts, i made a mistake. however, when i went back to the settings menu (and whatever were there like "about," etc.), i always get this error:

HighDensityDisplayMgr.c,
Line:274,BmpGetDensity:
invalid argument

that forces a hard reset. and now my iambicMail is a complete waste - not being able to do anything with it.

i tried checking up on the iambic support forums, and it seems that this is a problem from earlier versions. unfortunately, iambic still hasnt released a fix/patch, nor replied to any customer queries about it.

to members of CS: any suggestions regarding this

to those at iambic: please clean-up your act. dont let the success of agendus for palm get to your heads -- see the results (1) unpopular agendus desktop, and (2) crashing apps

I am using version 3.06 and it has been stable for me. Yes, they are notorious for not responding to their users. If you can remember back awhile, they even attached spyware to their products.

Darn, I wished I had seen your post a few minutes ago. I deleted the previous version, sorry. I am too neat and I don't like my drives cluttered up.

Please elaborate the "spyware" bit....

Spyware, haven't you heard about that?

A lot of so called freeware apps have spyware attached that reports your travels on the internet and possible other personal data.

I did a search and it brought back 538 entries alone on PC World magazine alone.

I know what spywares are.
Can you elaborate on the spyware iambic
attached -- which product? Iambic mail ?!

I have the same error with 3.07. Does anyone have 3.06 or know where we can download 3.06 so that we can try out. I really like their HTML stripping feature....

Thanks.
Ray

That was in the past and I don't remember the details, but I believe Tanker_Bob does. It might even still be on his web page.

Right on the stripping feature, forgot about that. I knew there was a reason I dumped Clie Mail!

Version 3.07 seems very stable for me and no resets. I use it strictly Wifi only!

n2ifp,

I am using 3.07. But I almost always get the "HighDensity" error whenever I tried to open a dialog (e.g. The account dialog, the purge deleted dialog, etc) and need to reset. Is it possible for you to try these menu out and see if you have the same problem?

(I also have installed the system update and WonderSilk, I am not sure whether that makes a difference)

Thanks!
Ray

i finally received a reply from iambic's tech support... and this is what they have to say

This is a known bug that will be corrected in upcoming versions.

The workarround is to tap upper left to access the menu instead of the menu dropdwon button on the silkscreen

and i do say that since ive began using the above, i never experienced that highdensity error again...

Hi Ray!

Sorry, I tried, but I can't duplicate it. I have all the updates, but not Wondersilk.

Hi Larry,

Thanks! I think that's okay since the workaround seems to be working for me too. Again, Thanks for trying to duplicate for us!

Cheers,
Ray
