I wonder if anyone can help me out with my Treo, I had to do a hard reset but when I restore from a backup (using RBackup) it resets when it reaches the file TasksDB-PTod. I've skipped this file and the rest of the files restore fine but I've lost all the items in Tasks.

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in Advance

It never happened to me like that. I use the Resco Backup as well. But haven't tried restored yet. Did you have backup with the hotsync?

I sync my Treo at work so the last hotsync backup I had is about 2 weeks ago. If I can't restore from my card backup this is what I'll have to go back to.

I just wondered if it was an issue with Resco Backup. I used to to use BackupMan and have done several restores from that with no issue. I started to use Resco Backup because its more efficient at compressing backups but I think I will go back to BackupMan now.

It is always possible that the task list database became corrupted. If you also have your tasks synced to your PC, you could set the conduit to Desktop Overwrites Handheld to restore this file.

A problem you will run into with any backup app is the possibility of having a corrupted file backed up to your external card. Whenever you restore from the backup set, the corrupted file is reintroduced to the handheld device. One way around this is to make more than one backup either to a PC or another card. I am a firm believer in having your backups in at least two seperate places.

I am using BackupBuddy VFS Pro (BBVFS) which has a great feature that allows me to make several Checkpoint backups. This works much like the System Restore function on Windows XP so I can go back in history to restore my device to a prior date. The BBVFS desktop component to this app also stores Checkpoints on my PC. More times than not, BBVFS on the handheld has saved my butt on numerous occassions.

You might want to try two things:

1.) Get Rlocker, a free app from Resco, install it and lock your tasks database.

Then...

2.) Download Backupman (the backup app I use) and try to do a backup with that (or try backing up with Resco)

Report back whether it works or not.

Thanks for your help guys, I've gone back to using BackupMan. It seems that Resco Backup corrupted the Tasks Database when it zipped it because I can't open the zipped file on my PC.
