Is there a way to make IsiloX automatically convert at a set time and then when you Hotsink the next time it could transfer them to the MS. Kind of like Handstory does.

For this you will need to install iSiloXC.
Open up your Control Panel.
Open ‘Scheduled Tasks’.
Click on ‘Add a Scheduled Task’.
The Wizard should run.
In the pop-up, choose ‘iSiloXC’ (if you don’t see it, browse and find where you put it on your hard drive. It’s probably in C:\Program Files\iSilo\iSiloX\ Make sure you choose ‘iSiloXC’ and NOT ‘iSiloX’. Big difference.)
Hit ‘Next’.
In the next dialogue, you need to decide what you want to call your task at the top. For the sake of this example, let’s call it ‘iSilo’.
Then you need to decide when you want to run your task. Hit ‘Next’.
In the next dialogue key it up for a few minutes into the future so we can see its stuff. Hit ‘next’.
Note: When you’re done this will place an icon into your ‘Scheduled Tasks’ folder called ‘iSilo’.
Double click on this icon.
Change the ‘Run’ line to:
"C:\Program Files\iSilo\iSiloX\iSiloXC.exe" -x "C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\iSilo.ixl" -u
Change the ‘Start in’ line to:
"C:\Program Files\iSilo\iSiloX\iSiloXC.exe"
Very Important: You need the quotes for this. Do it exactly as it appears above.
Just make sure that iSiloXC is in the correct directory above and that the .ixl file you’re trying to call is in the directory you’re trying to call.
Note that in this example, my ‘iSilo.ixl’ is on my Desktop; my iSiloXC application file is in the iSiloX folder within the iSilo directory under Program Files (this makes sense if you look at the directory tree).
Your example iSilo.ixl file should run at the specified time automatically. It will popup as a DOS Command line event and start downloading the files.
I got this information from http://www.turcic.com/ and was finally able to put it together. This is from an example I followed from their forum. If you have any problems ask, and maybe I can help, or someone else may help. Or review turcic's forum....a wealth of information. It was there that I was finally able to make iSilo work automatically. I can now turn on my computer in the morning and it will automatically update all my iSilo web pages, then I have my Clie programmed to hoysync about 20 minutes later. I can grab it and go.

When u configure an iSilo channel, you can select your memstick as the hotsync "destination". Doing this will put these channels on the stick when you sync.

yes...what cutTheCords said:) The way I found to do it is to open up iSiloX \ default properties \ destination \ then right click on your username and choose 'external memory card'.

And if you're into running beta software, the latest beta of iSiloX (3.35b2b)allows for scheduling of channels within the GUI.

abs: That's a good tip... using autosync. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks! :D
Here's another time-saving tip that might be helpful: You can start your hotsync as iSiloX is still processing to cut down on time. I usually wait a few mins into the process before I slap the cradle.
I hope you all stop by turcic.com's forums for more tips, links, info and iSilo news. Btw, those instructions look oddly familiar :)

Did you write them at turcic's? If so, thanks so much, they were the only instructions that finally got my iSiloX to work automatically. I point people to turcic's every chance I get. A great place to learn about iSilo!

Yerp.
Glad it's working out for you, but Alex is the mastermind behind the whole thing. I'm just a member of his fanclub. :)

I still thank all of you for your help. iSilo is now purring like a kitten without me having to do a thing. Avantgo is gone for good.

Now if only iSilo/Handspring would add Mobipocket's screen rotation feature to take advantage of the 480 spaces...

Yes, iSilo, please. If Repligo can do it iSilo can. (so could alot of other apps.)

Once you understand how ISiloX works, it is superior to avantgo by far and much more usercnfigurable.
I changed to ISilo some moth ago and do not miss avantgo.

I don't want to start a new thread so I'll use this one instead.
Currently, I have iSilo installed mainly to do webclippings of websites that don't change much. Mailinglist archives and such. There is however, about 8 of them that changes once per day. Now, I have a slow laptop, and what I want is that when I press the "convert all" button, that only those 8 will be loaded and converted and made ready for hotsync.
Isn't there an option to 'lock' the other sources so that they will not be converted when I press the 'convert all button'?

Check the latest version of iSiloX. It allows you to schedule channels individually using the Windows built-in schedulerer.

Thanks for the tip... but, I don't want to sound ungrateful and such, but as I have a dog slow Celeron 128 Mb laptop, I have Windows Task scheduler turned off by default, and wish to leave it that way. Isn't there something that can be turned of manually so that certain channels skip the "Convert all" process?
Thanks anyway for the other tip.

Not yet. I recommend that you create a second .ixl iSiloX file with the channels that you want to include in the "Convert All" process. Simply open another iSiloX instance, do File->New and then cut© from the existing channel list to the new one.

Wish I understood Isilo. I have it on my computer but whenver I use it, it either takes hours to convert massive files or I get the first page of the website and then when you tap a link just a page of gobbledegook.
I hate it!
