I came across Public Domain Torrents (http://www.publicdomaintorrents.com/) the other day and thought I'd bring it to your attention. Said site contains a whole load of free, LEGAL DivX movies pre-formatted for various mobile devices including smartphones and video iPods.
All of the films on the site are available for legal download as the copyrights held on them have expired and not been renewed by their original creators. The films are subdivided into categories including Action/Adventure, Comedy, Horror, SciFi, Martial Arts, Musicals etc etc.
I have downloaded a few and they seem to be of reasonable quality but be warned, as these films rely on copyright expiration, none are up to date and the storylines are pretty poor at times too! For you B movie afficionados, Plan 9 from Outer Space (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052077/), widely reputed to be the worst movie ever made is available along with the straight to video antics of some more recognisable "talents" such as Leslie Nielsen, Telly Savalas, Brandon Lee and James Earl Jones.
There are non-PDA versions available in 700MB and 350MB sizes, and PDA versions in 160px and 320px widths. File sizes are between 90MB and 190MB.
To download the movies you will need a suitable BitTorrent client and to view them, I recommend TCPMP which I am currently using without any problems.
