Hey Alan
pretty interesting podcast, i forgot all about the wrist pda. It's funny, I'm on 14 pda's and I'm only 18! Hopefully I won't catch you in that area, but you never know, I have a disposable income so it's very very possible :) Now as far as the 700w goes, I think it's going to sell like crazy, even though I don't have any interest in it. My next palm maybe one of the new PALM OS treo's coming out, but you never know. I hope they make a program that will convert my recorded tv shows from my laptop to the lifedrive, do you know if there is such a program? I'm using media center to record... Anyways, thanks for the podcast and have a great week!

OMG!!!! I thought having 3 UXs was a lot. LOL. I'm 17. As for media, I think the most simpliest and cheapest solution for TV shows on devices is a TV Tuner in your PC and using Virtual Dub to remove commericals. Perfect combination. Then use FFMPEG to convert in Sony MP4 format.
One thing I dislike (not about what you said) but in general is how Steve Jobs gets front cover of TIME because he releases Video Ipod LATE!!!! Sad how many companies release such better devices than the easily-scratchable/breakable iPod Video and yet they are not commemorated. Is it because there non-American companies or what??
Creative, iRiver, Sony <-- Apple's Video ipod sucks compared to these.

Alan I bought a Microsoft SPOT wath from fossil, I tried to rock it at work and people thought I was wearing a hockey puck on my wrist, lol. I thought about getting the Abacus when I saw how cheap it was now, but I'll save that $$ for my Treo 700p. Great podcast!

I also bought a Abacus wrist PDA for $30 from Amazon, no tax and shipping cost. A sweet deal, I thought. But just like Alan, I also find out that it's big. I actually wore it a couple days then really hated it. It looks funny on my wrist and way too heavy. So, now it's sitting on the drawer collecting dust. :( I think abcaus did a good job on the watch PDA, but I am not sure there is a way out of this paradox -- it's too big for the wirst but too small for PDA...

Yeah, the SPOT watch from Swatch was cool in conecpt, it was wireless. You could get news, horoscopes, have different watch faces sent over the air. It used FM frequencies to update itself. It didn't have a touch screen like the Abacus, but was kinda cool that it was wireless. It was cool for the first few days, lol. Then my friends started making fun of me, and calling me a super geek. I also got a little nervous Microsoft would always know where I was wearing that hockey puck, lol, kidding.

Alan:
Thanks for an interesting show. You mentioned 22 devices. I assume you are still syncing some of them. How can you do it? I have 2 laptops and a desktop, all windows xp machines. Can I install the latest version of Palm desktop (the one for the TX) on all 3 machines? What about DoctoGo? I am having a very frustrating time trying to sync my excel and word docs to all 3 machines and 2 devices: T3 and TX. I'm not ready to give up the T3 just yet. I want to use the same hotsync name because of registered software. what I've been doing is rename the backup file for use with the 2 devices.
My biggest problem is with doctogo. It just keeps creating versions of the documents. I should mention that I'm not using native versions of the excel and word docs.
Any thought would be appreciated...
Happy New Year!
